  1. American TV viewership numbers for soccer are a total humiliation for MLS, and they deserve every ounce of it.
  2. Could you kindly quote the sections of my posts that "slag you off"? Also, why are you micro-analyzing what I'm posting? Move on, man.
  3. I have to stop and pinch myself at this very moment. It's New Year's weekend and we are having a robust conversation about our position near the top of the table. Let's all step back and appreciate this. Yes, the loss on Tuesday and the manner of the loss was hard to take. But it wasn't the last game of the season. The next phase commences on Saturday and the transfer window opens soon after that. This is going to be very entertaining!
  4. You're overthinking this. Who cares? I'm simply expressing a feeling that isn't necessarily rooted in rationality. This is sports fandom, after all. The Spurs and Arsenal results deepen the sense of a missed opportunity, that's really all there is to it.
  5. And for the second week in a row you don't seem to grasp why someone can be of two minds on the matter! Its great that our rivals lost, but annoying when we aren't able to exploit these losses by our rivals, either before or after they lose. Surely this isn't a esoteric concept?
  6. What's Going On Innervisions Kind of Blue Rumours Thriller Dark Side of the Moon Aja Brothers in Arms Exodus Moving Pictures Some of these aren't even in my top 100 favorite albums, but I'd find them crucial on vinyl.
  7. Maine just removed Trump from the ballot... This will stir up the crazies here.
  8. Of course the teams around us drop points too.
  9. @mjmooney, before I list my ten, I wanted to alert you that we have 4 overlapping picks. Can you guess the four? You win one free weekend on my sofa if you get them all right. If you get them all wrong, the penalty is one free weekend on my sofa.
  10. No I'm not trying to gain anything for myself... ...other than a conversation with people about vinyl records and stuff.
  11. It might make zero difference to YOU, Mike. For me, vinyl sounds fuller and richer. I even like a hint of scratchiness. And yes, I miss the experience of flipping through record bins, holding them in my hands, enjoying the visual aspects of the art and notes, etc. Streaming services lack all the romance of the vinyl experience. And I hate CDs. And I wasn't asking for "tips". I have plenty of prospective top 10 records filed away in my brain. But I had to go to work before I could list them!
  12. I grew up with vinyl and had a modest collection as a 15 year old, but started buying exclusively cassettes in 1986, and then CD's, and now Spotify. But I really like the idea of building up a new vinyl collection. Maybe 50 records or so, but the first 10 have to be absolute heavyweights. I have an idea of what my first 10 records will be, but first I'd like to hear what yours are...
  13. I actually think the Man Utd loss was much more harmful because the match was won at halftime but we collapsed. Sheffield set up to get a 0-0 point. They were always going to be tough to score against. But we did score, and rescued the point.
  14. It's not the loss that concerns me, its the nature of the loss. It suggests psychological fragility and physical fatigue. And it seems like teams are more prepared for how we play. We need a comprehensive reset, and I hope we can start the reset with a win vs Burnley.
  15. The Man City performance took a toll. We are still trying to recover.
  16. Changes were needed at 55 minutes. It was obvious something was very wrong. But it took another 22 minutes before he did anything. Really strange and rather irritating. Why wait?
  17. I'll admit it's somewhat annoying that our record signing currently can't really be counted on to contribute much in big games. The guy is a total passenger lately.
  18. I thought he was fine until their first goal which was due to his lazy pass and flat-footedness after it. And after the goal he just kept playing bad. He's confident in his ability and I like that, but he might be overconfident. He's a bit too nonplussed and casual sometimes when all that's needed is a bit more focus.
  19. I die inside a little whenever I see a Brit or Aussie parroting American right wing propaganda and Fox News culture war bullshit. But then I guess Murdoch already got to you. Rupert Murdoch is Satan
  20. I'm feeling the absence of Tyrone (and Emi Buendia) more than ever right now. We need them. We needed them tonight.
  21. Title talk surely over now, for varying reasons. But CL race still on. We need to beat Burnley and then regroup after a frenzied period of highs and lows. Get some starters back and rested and healthy, and perhaps a new signing or two to freshen things up and provide some relief heading down the stretch. Tonight will sting for a while and it is deeply disappointing, but the team will need us to back them again.
  22. We can probably lock this thread. Title winning sides don't lose 3-2 when leading 0-2 at halftime.
  23. Couldn't defend a 2 goal lead for 45 minutes with a chance to go joint top. Appalling collapse, really.
  24. Hate to say it, but Monchi might listen to offers
  25. I'm oddly feeling somewhat comforted at the sense of familiarity with what we've just witnessed. No more dizzying heights and flights of fancy. Normalcy appears to be re-emerging. Maybe we should just be pesky upstarts trying to qualify for a lower level European tournament. No shame in that. Save your psyches, lower your expectations.
