You might also be interested in the fact that there were about 200 people in this bar watching England-Croatia and maybe 40 English people if basic suss out skill is considered. The crowd was almost entirely pro-England and living and dying on each big moment. I think most Americans feel an innate kinship with England and will support England as a reflex. Keep that in mind as our president trashes our alliance.

The reggae nerds on here will appreciate this- I've been seeing this sax player busking in the Old Port here in Portland. Older guy, and really good. He plays either jazz tunes or he'll play a reggae track on his little amplifier and play along with it. Turns out he's Glen daCosta who played sax in the Wailers on Natty Dread, Rastaman Vibration and Exodus. Songs that you hear on the radio to this day. He was on stage for that famous Manley-Seaga handshake at the One Love peace concert. This guy was one of the top horn players in Jamaica. And here he is living in Maine on busking collections. If only Rita Marley was less greedy, he might be less dependent on busking. Shame.

I know I shouldn't like the rubberized badge...but i sort of do. maybe next year they can revert back to the norm and in the process make this year's shirt a real collector's item.

Nice easy win. That didn't feel like a World Cup quarterfinal, but I doubt England fans will complain. I expected a bit more from Sweden though, that was a sad display.
