What a plane crash. I must admit I take a degree of pleasure whenever Martin O'Neil takes one on the chin.

My coffee shop/wine store venture didn't bear fruit so I'm rolling the dice on a bar venture. a "cider bar". Beer in Maine is at a saturation point but cider is still growing. So I'm focusing on ciders, but I'll also have beer and wine available. I'll be doing "rustic small plates" like cheese, cured meats, house made pickles, hot sandwiches, marinated olives, warm baguette, etc. I'll also be having cider cocktails, as well as fresh cider and hot spiced cider in the winter. So crank up the Wurzells, Maqroll is finally opening his own bar! I'm considering hanging some Villa stuff and calling my place the Maine AVFC supporters bar. Just gotta find the other guy in Maine who loves Villa

I saw Khraungbin in Portland last week. First time at this particular venue and the mix was piss poor. Soundboard fail. Packed house though and it's always good to see bands venture this far northeast. Usually Boston is the last stop.

Flattened chicken breast seared in a pan with avocado oil. Covered in sauteed mushrooms and spinach with garlic, soy sauce chili flakes. Macon-Chardonnay to wash it down.

The stated goal will be to win the league of course, but I think everyone involved will be content with survival as long as progress is being made. I think we'll take a couple of scalps before November and then take some beatings over the winter. But we'll rebound in the spring. I think we'll finish 14th. A cup run would be nice, but this will be a year of grinding out results. UTV

Pack a warm coat. Check live music listings, Bruins/Celtics tickets, art museums (MFA, ICA, Gardner). The Seaport District is the hot area the last few years, so that could be a fun base area to book a hotel. It's in the shadow of all the downtown skyscrapers and a quick walk away from the North End (old Italian area with good food) and Chinatown.

I don't think we'll have the squad for a top 6 challenge. I think the goal is likely to solidify our Prem status and to build on that for next season. Mid table is likely the goal this season. I'd love to be wrong on this.

I bet there's some truth to the dreadlocks kid loan move. We seem to have a good relationship with Chelsea these days and they won't view us as a threat this season.

Villa have been a soft touch for a long time. Too many teams full of nice guys. A skilled defensive midfielder with a chip on his shoulder is just what the doctor ordered, IMO

Just picked a pork flank which I've never tried before. It's thin cut, I can fry it in seconds. I think I'll flash sear both sides, then set it to the side while I fry up some mushrooms in garlic. I'll let the shrooms cool and then roll them up with raw spinach inside the flank and then pop it in the oven with some red wine on it.
