Early days still. That said, I get the impression that Dean and co. are trying to assemble not only a squad, but an ethos, so buying players who might think they want to use us as a stepping stone might not be a top priority. They'll want to sign players who will want to stay and grow the project.

There's also the very significant loss of the home game(s) for one of the teams. In our case, we'll have lost a home stand against our arch rival. Granted, it's just three out of 162, but still. And if you're a NFL fan with a season ticket, you're shit out of luck if your team is the "home" team in London. And like I said, go crazy with pre season games in Timbuktu for all I care. I bet Villa fans would not be too thrilled about giving up a home game so the team can fly to Arizona for a regular season match.

Nope. Canada is like our Wales. Plus, they have teams in 3 out of the 4 big leagues here. I'm not opposed the Mexican games or even Mexican teams in our leagues. But flying across the sea to another continent seems OTT.

I didn't watch it. I'm opposed to any American sport regular season game being played abroad. Pre season is fine.
