  1. I believe you're referring to my post, which wasn't meant to be considered with any degree of seriousness
  2. It's amusing to see how some people on here, armed with the same information, are either inclined to believe the workers or inclined to believe management (by suggesting the workers are exaggerating or stubborn or disgruntled). We should merge this thread and the political identity thread.
  3. Unexpected, wonderful news completely overshadowed by "The Letter". I really hope he's healed up enough to start training. There will be pressure to hurry him back into the team, but I hope everyone just takes it slow and steady.
  4. I heard at FAB meetings during the Gerrard months, he came off as detached from the day-to-day mechanics of club operations and wasn't fully aware of significant issues affecting the club, which I found alarming, as the observations came from someone at the meetings. The Gerrard hiring really blew up in his face, and once Gerrard was sacked, it was probably only a matter of time before he was shown the door too. Purslow's biggest move at Villa was hiring Gerrard and it was going to get us relegated, and I'm not sure Pochettino would've saved us either. What we miss is Purslow's understanding of the British football landscape, his contacts therein and his respect for Aston Villa as an institution. I think Heck brings none of that to the table. Many troubling accusations, and the hiring of his college fraternity buddies or whoever they are to feed at the Villa trough, is one of the more disturbing ones. It doesn't sit well with me that there might be a cabal of charlatan scumbags wreaking havoc inside the club while drawing a salary of who knows how much. I hope we get some clarity on all this, but I suspect it's probably true.
  5. I think Heck is an Edens hire, so if these allegations are true, Edens has to own it and correct the problem. My worst fear and initial gut feeling was that Heck would turn out to be the "Ugly American" arrogant blowhard stereotype who doesn't care to understand the sporting culture and club culture he finds himself in. What worries me is the possibility that Edens is somehow a kindred spirit to Heck, and approves of the behavior and methodology in question. Something is obviously very wrong behind the scenes at the club, at the precise moment when unity and common cause are paramount.
  6. I'm just finding out about this letter, does anyone have a link to it?

    Ezri Konsa

Two scans and they didn't turn up an ACL injury apparently.
  8. I had no idea this happened. Pretty good!
  9. There IS. A mass shooting at a Super Bowl parade followed by a world map burning.
  10. When FIFA announced the USA as co-host for World Cup 2026, one of the first things I thought of was the gun violence problem here and the shadow it casts over large public gatherings, like parades and watch parties. There were reportedly hundreds of police at the parade yesterday and it didn't stop a determined shooter from killing and maiming. Of course it didn't. There are a lot of people in this country that still view football/soccer as "liberal", "elitist", and symbolic of "globalism". And they don't like foreigners, especially non-white foreigners. And a gathering of liberals and foreigners at an outdoor (or indoor) watch party, or outside stadia makes a soft and juicy target for a white nationalist MAGA maniac. It would be beyond tragic if there were a mass slaughter of football/soccer fans at the World Cup. If I were flying in from abroad to attend a game, or just soak up the vibes, I'd probably go to Canada or Mexico and avoid the USA altogether, or at least avoid the matches in states with lax gun laws, like Missouri. And if I were determined to see my team at a match in person, even in a Republican state with armed, partisan maniacs in a volatile political environment, I might consider buying a flak jacket.
  11. Oof, Gallagher unmarked there. Poor Woy.
  12. Palace game. But now I think its not Cockney.
  13. This Cockney sounding woman's voice is really distracting. She's also completely humorless.
  14. An 11 point lead over Man Utd would've been much easier to protect without Kamara. The loss and the injury are a 1-2 punch to the testicles.
  15. Injury to insult. Who knows, this news might spark some defiance in the squad which they can use as fuel for the rest of the season. It was always going to be a tooth and nail fight. That is clearer than ever now.
  16. I heard the entire Chiefs team chartered their plane straight to Antifa headquarters for an all night child sacrifice party where they drank baby blood from goblets made of the skulls of Plandemic vaccine victims.

    Unai Emery

Leon looked out of gas to me in the minute or two before he came off, and I think that's why he was pulled. And he didn't seem annoyed about it when he came off. I'm pretty sure it was sound reasoning by Emery.
  18. All winnable games versus lower half sides. Even with a depleted squad, we have enough quality to put them all to the sword.
