  1. Nice. The only tweaks I'd like to see is the original Adidas trefoil logo, the sponsor in yellow/gold not white, and a collar. And maybe just plain caret, no design, just to see what it looks like. And maybe enlarge the badge slightly. : )
  2. I was going to post the exact same thing. Ours stands out as the most basic, flaccid, muted and boring image. Sad.
  3. Something I find heartwarming is the fraternity of Villa podcasters and the support they give one another. You might not expect that dynamic in such a saturated market, so they all deserve a tip of the hat for that. And although Holy Trinity doesn't seem to participate in this fraternity, he regularly puts a shine on a couple of Villan "match correspondents" and he's featured that contracting business heavily in each show for months, which is a good move IMO, even if he's getting paid by the guy. I do not doubt Pete's Villa bonafides, he's been a fan since the 80's. I thought I must've been one of the oldest North American Villa fans until Pete dispelled me of that notion.
  4. Not from me. I wish each and every Villa podcaster all the success, and I'm thankful there are so many options. The ones I regularly watch and listen to are Claret & Blue FTLOPM Holy Trinity MOMS None of these are immune to the occasional critique, and I think they'd all appreciate the occasional critique as well.
  5. Vancouver to England is about 7,500 miles. That's a long and expensive flight. But I agree, the donation requests were a bit unseemly and presumptuous for someone still quite new on the scene. "Pay for my flight and I'll bless you with my presence." On the whole though, I like his enthusiasm and analysis, and it's well produced. Great sound quality. He can lay his personality on a bit thick sometimes, but I guess that's just part of the package.
  6. Liz Truss dazzling the hardcore at CPAC
  7. It probably depends on the player, but in general I think that's an accurate statement. What city the club is in probably matters much more, and Arsenal have the boyhood club AND the London factor, so I do worry about Arsenal swooping in and signing him. Villa just need to hold their feet to the fire. Given the striker shortage, the English player factor, his good character, age and lack of injuries, Villa should demand at LEAST 125m mill.
  8. Shaw looks a bit like Gazza there
  9. Ollie's an Arsenal fan as well. But unless they pay 125m, they can **** off.
  10. I know many people are against building a new stadium to another part of Birmingham. But it wouldn't be the worst outcome. In the States, we've had teams uproot entirely. The most famous case is probably the Brooklyn Dodgers moving to Los Angeles, followed by the Giants to San Francisco. Devastating to their fans and communities. In gridiron, the Colts literally left Baltimore under cover of darkness to move, unannounced, to Indianapolis. The Colts were a true community football club. The fans deserved so much better. Many other instances in all our top team sports of teams moving to another state. So Villa moving to another part of the same city isn't a disaster, IMO. But I'm not from Birmingham, so my perspective isn't shaped by a deep connection to Aston. I love Villa Park, I've been to Villa Park, and of course it would be really sad to see it potentially bulldozed. But imagine if Villa just moved to Newcastle and changed their name to "Villa Northeast". What I hope the club does is stay at VP and do a thorough redevelopment. But it wouldn't surprise me if they have a long term view on a new ground somewhere in Birmingham.
  11. The four part Netflix series on Bernie Madoff is good. The guy had the reputation as a genius, but he was just a regular schlub who lost all the money he invested for family and friends in the 1960's, but covered the losses with false returns, and so began his big grift. He was swindling people for about 40 years.
  12. The first episode was big enough sample size for me to judge it. It is really tedious.
  13. They should have stopped after season 1.
  14. The Grateful Dead at their best were magic. Unfortunately, you had to wade through miles of musical sludge to hear it.
  15. Two maddening VAR calls in our game that thankfully didn't affect the result. But it could have. VAR is useful when applied accurately and with consistency. Clearly the weirdos at Stockley Park are unable to reliably meet their responsibilities AI should replace the humans at VAR headquarters. AI could even replace ref assistants. The ref ass. Should never have raised the flag to begin with.
  16. Does anyone have the clip of the Watkins penalty shout?
  17. Great opportunity to snap this annoying home losing streak. We seem to be emerging from the malaise we've been in. Today's win was so important. They'll all be important, but the focus should be Forest and continuing to improve as a unit. Ollie looks like he's finding a nice new groove. It'd be nice if Diaby could do the same. We need our record signing speed demon to step it up. Ramsey is looking good but needs to find his shooting boots. We need more goals, because we're going to concede more goals with Konsa and Kamara out. Lenglet isn't optimal, but I think I prefer him to Carlos. Getting Torres back the week after Kamara's knee explosion really eases some of the injury anxiety. We've got a lot of games ahead in the league, and we are right in the hunt. It wouldn't shock me in the least if Luton beat Man Utd. It'll be interesting to see how Emery decides to approach the ECL games. My hope is our core starters aren't all playing 90 minutes or even 70 minutes. The Premier League needs to be the primary focus, IMO, starting with Forest. I think we win this one, 3-0.
  18. LOL there were THREE penalties on that sequence.
