Longest current unbeaten streak in the Premier League, undefeated on the season, second place with a game in hand. Tidy transfer window, lots of optimism. It seemed like we dropped the motto out of shame. But it feels like Aston Villa are truly back now and relevant again with things looking very bright indeed. This is not another false dawn. 2020 has been a year from Hell. Let's enjoy this ride.

I actually thought he was our worst performer on the night, but we now have a level of talent in this team that we can absorb substandard performances. Not terrible at all tonight, just not at his sharpest. Players still getting used to each other out there, which makes this performance and result all the more sensational.

Two unsightly missed opportunities, but had a blinder otherwise. Won the free kick to set up the 4th goal, and delivered a brilliant arcing low pass to a charging Trez who slotted it over to Ollie. Barkley is a freight train. This is the CM player we've been crying out for years.
