Being from and currently living in New England which is a Blue stronghold with a cohesive identity separate from the rest of the country, I've often daydreamed about breaking off from the USA and forming our own republic. But there are huge hurdles to clear to achieving that, and it would seem pretty unlikely. Despite our reputation for a better educated populace with better health, and better markers in general of a higher standard of living than most of the country, we also have entrenched MAGA gun nuts who would not want to be ruled over by "elitist liberals" in Boston and Cambridge. If you have armed right wingers who don't recognize the authority of their new government, you've got a problem. It might happen some day, but I won't be around to see it.

The short answer is piss poor public schools.

It's a fair question. But clearly anything the FA has attempted has failed. Slogans and knee-taking are fine, but basically toothless. But it's hard to succeed in stamping racism out in football when there's a surging groundswell of nationalism and racism in Europe and USA. The bad guys are ascendant, even with Trump heading for the exit. Racist goons like those Millwall fans might feel like they have some vague form of cover to act out. It'll be interesting to see how other fans react around the country as they come back.

I rather like this guy Maycock or Maylock? Sounds Cockney to me, which is usually a bit distracting, but he's a solid co-commentator.

What I don't like about Arsenal Fan TV besides the constant moaning and the constant use of "Fam" and "Blood", is that the guests put on a performance where they yell and curse instead of offering sober analysis and insightful critique.
