Tuesday afternoon in the middle of the transfer window and no posts in this thread for over an hour. Sad.

When you look at football videos from the 70's and 80's, when someone scores a goal, they'd sort of hop up in place and throw their hand up or do a upper cut move with their arm. At some point goal scorers started to run, often toward the corner flag or to the stands, with both arms up. My question is, if you were to pick a year what year did this shift happen? And what explains it?

I've completely ignored the GBBS since it started. No particular interest in baking. But my sister adores it and has been trying to get me to watch at least the first episode. I watched the whole first season. Its well done. Cheerful. I was impressed by the intricate skill and artistry involved. It didn't hurt that Kate advanced to the semifinal, either. I likely won't watch any more of it though. But it was a good binge this past week. I needed a complete switch off from watching the news.

It is, to a degree, at least in Congress. Murkowski calling for him to step down, some of their floor speeches on Wed night denounced him. Romney's in particular. The RNC is firmly in Trump's pocket though. But it won't matter in 11 days.

When Giuliani ran for mayor, he ran on a tough on crime platform which appealed to a lot of new Yorkers after 20 years of Mafia, decay and crack cocaine. He wasn't crazy yet and he wasn't a culture wars figure yet.
