Not sure why people are clamoring for Tammy when Wesley is weeks away from returning. Wesley would in theory accept being second choice, doubtful that Tammy would accept having to fight for his place at Villa. He wants to be an automatic starter.
I like the idea of Barkley coming on for the last 10-15 minutes to wreak havoc with his power and pace against tired players. I've soured on him starting ahead of our own players when he's demonstrated that he's not that interested in putting in the necessary work.
The equation is pretty simple: When Anwar starts, he tends to score. When he scores, Villa tend to win. He shouldn't have been dropped before, and I hope he's not dropped next week.
Lovely take and turn early on in the game. He has a fluidity to his game and the composure of a more experienced player. Really looking forward to how he develops.
Noiceeeeeee
Mings immense, Nakamba excellent, especially in the first half, and AEG, who once again gets in good areas and tests the goalkeeper and scores. When he starts we win.
I was hoping for a little more from Ramsey, but he wasn't bad.
Targett is just a beast. Soton must regret selling him.
Traore wandering around a bit and Ramsey along for the ride. I'd consider at some point bring on Trez, Barkley and Kessler for Traore, Ramsey and Elmo.
