  1. A side question for the older guys on here- Who sang the best part on "We are the World"? For me, it's Steve Perry and he's standing there with some real heavy hitters in the studio.
  2. I love Sam Cooke's voice, as well as his brother from another mother Steve Perry, although I can take or leave anything by Journey, or Perry solo. I just think he has (had?) an amazing voice that built on Cooke. James Brown Etta James Marvin Gaye Aretha Franklin Johnnie Hartman Robert Cray even though he's better known for his guitar playing. Amy Winehouse Stevie Wonder Dennis Brown Brad Delp
  3. Magical chord changes. Love the raw energy here.
  4. As an American it's really weird seeing an American player do this in consecutive CL semifinals vs Real Madrid. His persona is a bit bland, but he's pretty **** good!
  5. Real Madrid wearing black socks pisses me off. Is it VAR related because Chelsea wear white socks? **** off An all-English Champions League final pisses me off. Any final with two sides from the same country pisses me off. **** off
  6. In fact, I just shed a tear watching that!
  7. On my top 10 list of greatest popular music songs of all time.
  8. Are you a roofer? Chimney inspector? Solar panels?
  9. "Heroes" in particular is a total bore for me. I don't understand it's wide appeal. His catalogue is pretty spotty on the whole, but with some real standout songs. Ashes to Ashes and Sound and Vision are my faves. I also really like Let's Dance. It's pop perfection, but largely down to Nile Rodgers. I think I like the idea of Bowie more than the sum of his music output.
  10. I chased money playing poker for about 2 years. Mostly online, but sometimes live charity games and trips to the casino. I was never a full blown addict, but the online play fueled my alcohol consumption in a big way. I was bartending at the time and I'd get home around 2AM and play poker until dawn, drinking margaritas. It sounds manic and ugly, but it was a lot of fun, if I'm honest. Just really unhealthy. I saw some desperate people at the casino and I think that's what scared me away from playing. That and I lost about 3-4K USD over 24 months. Which could have been much more if I kept chasing. I haven't played in years and don't miss it at all. I'm glad I never did much sports betting because I love sports and enjoy the thrill of gambling. And it makes watching the games you bet on much more interesting. I heard a couple of horror stories in Boston. One was a cop, a father of three kids, who offed himself with his service pistol in his cruiser because he was so deep in the hole. They found him not far from my house at the time.
  11. Scarface is a terrible movie.
  12. You guys know these college players way better than I do. How do you think my Patriots did in this draft? Any bad picks? Is Mac Jones a long term asset for the team?
  13. I used to have something called Proctaglia Fugax. It's actually just dormant now because once in a while I get mild symptoms. But for about 15 years, once every 6 weeks or so, it would strike in the middle of the night, usually waking me up and then I'd be writhing on the floor for over an hour. It is an indescribable pain. I almost vomited once because the pain was so horrible. To make matters worse, there is no cure or reliable remedy, nor is there an explanation of why it even happens. So glad the worst of it seems to have passed. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proctalgia_fugax
  14. Look what they're doing to Billie Eilish. Predictable, but pretty depressing.
  15. Pats winning the draft so far, suckazzzz
  16. This one is under 100K US https://mekamodular.com/models/standard/sol-480/ Palm trees not included.
  17. This looks decent. I'm sure the reality isn't quite as slick as these photos and not-so-real looking photos. https://www.dwellito.com/modular-homes/kithaus-k9
  18. I had no idea, nice one, Xann!
  19. I'm looking at buying an acre of land and a modular home. It'll be spartan living, but the alternative is buying a dump or renting an apartment. The housing situation in Maine right now is really depressing if you are on a budget. Even building new is prohibitive with material costs at the moment. But I really like the idea of modular becoming more common. It's a very green alternative to building new. Anyone ever been inside one?
  20. It's really sad how cruel people can be. When they sense or learn that you are struggling they smell blood. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/apr/30/albion-rovers-david-cox-quits-football-after-alleged-mental-health-taunt
  21. Watching Rush, the Lauda-Hunt flick. Missed opportunity. Decent enough But its a Ron Howard film, so you get a lot of bells and whistles but not much depth.
  22. Kruz the Kuban Kanuck https://www.washingtonpost.com/investigations/ted-cruz-maintains-ties-to-right-wing-group-despite-its-extremist-messaging/2021/04/23/64387376-8e58-11eb-aff6-4f720ca2d479_story.html
  23. It's ok, they're handing out free AR-15s with every jab.
