I actually didn't think Italy were the better team on the night. Much better second half, but on rhe whole I think it was pretty even. Just a huge missed opportunity for England to turn the blade after they scored. My standout performer for England in the tournament is Luke Shaw. Hardly put a foot wrong. Lessons learned for all involved, you'd think. Good experience to build on for the World Cup. A more aggressive manager in charge of these players will get England deep into the WC. Who will be that manager?

People will denounce the stutter step penalties, but it shouldn't have come to penalties. England were bossing the game after the opening goal and could've put the game to bed if they just kept turning the screws. Bringing on Henderson was basically laying out a welcome mat for the Italians to seize the initiative because England weren't going for it at that point.

Because when I saw Saka in tears I immediately knew that he'd get racial abuse on social media. Then I thought about the other guys who missed and did the math. Sorry if the truth is painful to you. It is to me too. Why do black footballers in England get so much racist abuse? That's what you should be concerned with.

Ridiculous. Tyrone Mings gets racially abused repeatedly, as do Rashford, Sterling, etc. Should I assume then that all the people engaging in this abuse are Americans? Absurd statement and I'm baffled that it came from you.

It's a cynical comment, I totally admit that. But it's cynicism based on what actually happens on social media. This has been an ongoing issue.
