A great season for VIlla, no doubt, considering our last 12 years or so. But I'm talking in terms of repeatedly qualifying for the CL and winning the league itself. We finally have hope that we might be able to crack the code, but we aren't there yet.
The league needs a salary cap that is enforced. So many clubs just make up the numbers now, and we are one of them. We have a glimmer of hope that we might break into the top group, but unless clubs like Newcastle get bought by nation states, they have no hope of doing anything other than maybe getting relegated.
Woot! We have 30 players. More are welcome to join at any point in the season.

The romance of supporting City must be long gone. What are the compelling narratives other than trying to buy the Champions League. They are an exhibition team, like the Harlem Globetrotters. Its a prefabricated bore.
Luiz doesn't put in loads of crunching tackles because he's usually so well positioned that he doesn't need to. His play was a big part of the overall stellar Villa defensive record last year. Not a flashy player at all, even though people want him to be seeing as he's Brazilian. He is not without inconsistency, but I think some of that is due to him being overworked.
I noticed in one of their promo vids, he picks up a Man City scarf they laid out on a table for him, but instead of holding it up, he rolled it into a ball and put it back down on the table!
I guarantee he was trying to not do anything too enthusiastically in front of the camera for fear of further angering Villa fans.
It may have also just felt weird to do that after 19 years of being a Villan.
