Yeah, I've always clocked that. Fair play to them. Not a whole lot to make noise about over the years but they always sell out the ground and always make a good atmosphere.
I think we could do worse than Gerrard. He's a young manager who is having success, he knows the PL, and he can draw good players. I'd prefer him to most of the other names mentioned.
It's natural to have mixed feelings about this. The whole mind v heart thing. I have to assume there were things that have gone on behind the scenes that m!de the decision a bit easier for Purslow than it would have been for you or I. Maybe one day we will hear how it all went down.
I watched the West Ham game longingly today. The atmosphere there was totally electric. Drury said the stands were shaking. I really hoped this season was going to be like that for us. Can it still? Seems we are miles behind West Ham and now even teams like Crystal Palace FFS, who also had a rocking stadium this weekend. Grrrrrrr.
Lots of comments today slating the decision from people who haven’t watched the games. It was worse than just 5 straight losses. Its been a complete meltdown.
Poor Dean. Not what he'd have envisioned. At least he's got a golden parachute and plenty of good will intact. He can afford to unwind with his family, take a long holiday and wait for the inevitable job offers to roll in. He'll be alright, but he will still feel like there's unfinished business at Villa. Frustrating end.
A new manager will bring fresh ideas and the players will want to impress. Add to that dynamic the fact that we have some true quality, we should be fine.
Indeed. Winning the league back to back with Lambo at the helm was thrilling and so fun to watch. Who expected that kind of success to soon?

The atmosphere at Olympic stadium was totally electric. I really thought Villa would be producing a similar vibe this season. But we are back to square one again.
Of course Dean will want to bounce back with a decent sized club but given his acumen in player development, he could one day be a great option for Villa youth.
