He's right. I think the board owed Dean these next two weeks to put things back on track. If the team came out against Brighton and continued to play abysmally, then cut ties at that point. But the wide view on Smith is that he saved Aston Villa. People have short memories. I think we all owed Dean a bit more for what he has done for the club. I think I feel more sad today than yesterday. And maybe a bit angry.
Would like to think he could find his way back into the Villa frame again down the road. He's got many years ahead of him. Who knows? Graham Taylor came back.
