Yes, if he's not going to sign, he should sit and let Buendia get some playing time. Coutinho isn't leading us into the Europa League this season. So if he's just a hired gun for the next seven games, just use him as a sub.

I have no loyalty to Gerrard. Desperate for him to succeed, but he's not overwhelming me with belief that he's the guy to get us to the next level. I'm also worried about how he'll assemble the team over the summer and if it will align with our long term objectives of sustainability and youth integration. If Purslow were to be ruthless and drop the axe, I wouldn't be bothered at all, frankly.

Really annoying to see Buendia, Chambers and Sanson all continue to be frozen out. Gerrard is alarmingly rigid in his selection and substitutions.

Many positives to that half. We didn't sulk after the goal and dominated them the rest of the way. Crunching tackles, yelling at the ref, some very intricate passing and clever runs. Coutinhos little flicks are a delight. Let down by stupid defending early on and an inability to convert clear cut chances.
