  1. Well fair enough I guess, but without Coutinho, these players who were also coveted by elite sides would not have chosen Villa, so that in and of itself is transformative. In short order we have gone from an overlooked, underwhelming side to what we are assembling now, which is forcing the football world to reassess old attitudes and expectations. Just look at the latest betting odds, that alone says a lot. Perception is reality as they say. Not sure I always agree with that, but it's hard not to think we are rounding a corner that has been so **** elusive for decades. Even MON era was a false dawn. This feels much different.
  2. Less of an omission and more of a statement of how automatic Martinez is!
  3. There will be games this season where Coutinho will single handedly win us all 3 points. He is a world class player. Go watch that goal at the Etihad last game of the season. Because we are now watching his every move, every week, of course we will see some flaws and inconsistencies. But no matter how you slice it, signing Coutinho has transformed Aston Villa. Without him, we don't sign Kamara or Carlos or whoever comes next. Worth every penny, IMO.
  4. He won't get minutes. The best thing for Morgan is to get far away from Aston Villa.
  5. Archer Coutinho. Buendia. Bailey Luiz. Kamara Digne. Carlos. Chambers. Cash This is the blue ribbon side.
  6. It helped Lingard that he had really good players feeding him the ball at West Ham. Will be much trickier to get goals with Forest.
  7. Buendia and Phil were running Man City ragged and we were en route to victory. We have to keep them playing together.
  8. Lampard already looks lost in interviews. Will be a very long season for them.
  9. I thought he was off to Roma at one point?
  10. Some speculation on Le Twit that we've bid on Depay. All I remember of him is that he didn't do anything at Man Utd. Is he better than our current set of strikers?
  11. Are people thinking he could bump Mings to the bench?
  12. I've been enjoying The Weeknd's 80s pop stylings. Dunno if he is the producer as well, but whoever it is, they are drenched in the 80s. They've given it a modern edge and it works. I dig the Daft Punk elements in some of the songs. And the boy can sing.
  13. When I learned Dean Smith is a few months younger than me I was suddenly staring into a dark abyss.
  14. The trailer looks a bit wank
  15. My hunch is that we are going to be very surprised with two more massive signings and outgoings. Striker and ACM with Ings or Watkins being sold.
  16. At least Davies is also a name. Beundia doesn't exist, anywhere.
  17. He's not a Gerrard signing and probably wouldn't have ever been a Gerrard signing, and because of this we can expect to see him on the bench more than we ever want to.
  18. How are people misspelling his last name? Just saw it again on Twitter. "Beundia" It's **** BUENDIA
  19. Arsenal, Spurs, Man Utd all look to be improving. I think it'll be: Man City Liverpool Spurs Chelsea Arsenal Man Utd And then a scramble for 7th, of which we will be a part, in my opinion. Villa, West Ham, Newcastle and Leicester are the next tier.
