  1. He's had one good season and even trailed off a bit at the end. Nothing is guaranteed with the lad, and 60m of pure profit would be hard to resist, and could be used to sign two quality players. I'm not saying I want it to happen, I just think it'd give the brass food for thought.
  2. Of all the AV ones I've seen, this is by far the best.
  3. I don't find Alisha Lehman to be especially attractive. The painted eyebrows and fake eyelashes are scary. I'm probably too old for such commentary, but this forum is a sausage fest, so..
  4. He's scored some goals for us and girded the squad. Decent return on the whole.
  5. Too soon and we're coming off a win
  6. And I have to delete it in order to make a new post. What is the fix for this?
  7. I'm surprised more people aren't talking about the trainer who ran out and began stretching his leg like he had a cramp when in fact it wasn't a cramp at all. There was clearly a communication problem between the two as well. By stretching his calf muscle, he had to put force down on the Achilles, potentially either causing the injury or making it worse.

Our new expensive older player lasted less than 2 games before sustaining injury, which is a greater risk with older players. It does seem like we've strayed away from the stated philosophy. We have to be sustainable. But we also want to attract better players and to do that you have to sign some expensive players, some of whom will be 28+. It's a tricky balance that needs to be struck. I think we ate getting it mostly right. But there are a few red flags here and there. We cannot get bogged down by bloated contracts of fading players. But we already are to a degree. Resale value is really the golden chalice.
  9. Simon Jordan saying he's interested in buying Coventry City, FWIW.
  10. If he's out until April, he's out for the season (or should be) . Have him heal up completely and ease into preseason 2023.
  11. Well yeah, and they usually go hand in hand.
  12. It just seems like common sense. A weakened tendon trying to support a greater body mass seems like it would make a full recovery take longer. And as people age, their recovery times can take longer.
  13. His age and body type will make it unlikely he's ever the same player again. The only hope is that he's getting world class treatment (Is he?)
  14. I thought I'd be more upset about this. I think I've just learned to gird myself for terrible turns of events with Villa. I think also that after the opening dud, I reconfigured my expectations. I'd honestly accept mid table or even worse. Let's just get on with it.
  15. Our healthy CBs are good enough to maintain mid table status, which is what they might be willing to accept now that Carlos is out long-term.
