Weird vibe to this one. We're in a sort of purgatory. I guess Danks will set us up the exact same way and let them play free. Could be a very fun game to watch and we might just win it.

My friend Spazza says that cool strive sexi-art is what separates the fashdown spin backs like Slippy G and the jump up ones who regulate. Strictly on the DL.
I think because he made a big splash when he hit the scene. Nobody knew who he was and nobody saw him coming. His format, presentation and polished production style was impressive. The Canadian thing was also a novelty.
It seems like they'd opened talks with Emery well before the Fulham game...which makes the timing of the Gerrard sacking right after his post match presser look almost spiteful. I wonder if Gerrard was ultimately widely disliked throughout the club, all the way to the top (minus Purslow).
...
His first two games will both be v Man Utd. If we lose the first game, the second will be an early indicator of how adroit he is tactically.
We are getting a bit lucky with the WC break because it'll allow some significant training time with the players not in Qatar.
I've been following Villa since Big Ron days and Emery is probably the most elite manager we've signed. Houllier was on a career down slope, MON was really just a guy who had Scottish League success and a few solid years at Leicester. Emery is already very accomplished and he's still fairly young.
Huge signing!
Smart appointment. More stability, better organization, more pragmatism.
He will be eager for another bite of the Prem and should do better this time.
I expect far fewer losses now. Hopefully we aim high straight away and achieve a top half finish and deep cup runs.
January will be interesting.
