When I was in high school I worked at a Boston area Cafe chain. They imported amazing coffee. Jamaican Blue Mountain. Hawaiian Kona. Sumatran. Ethiopian Yirgacheffe among many others. The guy is well.known in coffee circles. George Howell. One of the top American importers. We'd unload the truck an hour or two after the beans were roasted. The burlap bags would radiate the heat as we brought them inside. The aroma was....exquisite. We were allowed one pound of free coffee every week. And all we could drink when clocked in.
So I was spoiled early on. Real top notch stuff is an unjustifiable expense these days. But I buy decent enough free trade beans at the food co-op. I grind them at the store and keep them sealed in the freezer.
My first cup I add Oat milk. Subsequent cups I take black. Usually 2-3 cups a day.
I like his demeanor. He comes across as sincere. Bright. Confident without arrogance. He's mature but also seems sort of youthful in a way. Let's give him a lot of leeway to put a proper framework in place. I have a good feeling about this.
The round will unfortunately win. It's just not a bold move in any way. And there's even some dead space on the bottom of it where it could've said FOOTBALL CLUB, and 1874 could've been on the sides.
I like the choice of font. It manages to look traditional and also modern.
These are both a clear upgrade despite neither if them blowing me away. So I'm pretty content about it.
Just as I am about the new gaffer!
Onward, Villa!
If I'm honest, they are both underwhelming. Not bad in any way, just very safe.
The round one will be the winner. But I kind of prefer the other one. I prefer the blue lion.
And the circle is already so omnipresent.
