He looks like a decent athlete and probably has some flashy shot stopping skills in training. But his command of the area was alarmingly bad and that pass...urgh. He needs more game time to work out those issues and fine tune his instincts. But the problem is we can't afford to play him and probably won't, ever again.

Who had the hard on for Olsen? Lange? I can't fathom we'll ever see Olsen again in a Villa shirt as long as Martinez is healthy. Shocking. Hopefully Emery now has a better understanding of what our deficits are in personnel. Should have iced the game at 1-0 but old habits die hard. Let's hope for at least a point on Sunday and then a productive trip to Dubai. -

Needs a bit more discipline in his passing. He's positive and always trying to make things happen and we need players like that. I trust Emery to help him harness this energy and channel it into a tighter level of play.

Brentford a mediocre side and we had a post-Slippy bounce. Newcastle a very strong side, we were in limbo with the players looking ahead to the incoming management team. Man Utd a weakened starting 11 today, we looked fully prepared and confident under Emery.
