When you watch these old match clips...doesn't it all feel more intense? Maybe it's because they show notable games but my general feeling is that things were more intense, the crowds more passionate and loud, more menace to affairs, more side drama, etc.
I really miss those days!
These Soccerbox uploads are quite good. I like how they interweave old match footage with the interviews.
I discovered the Premier League in 1994 and quickly became obsessed. I loved it. I sent away for a English football historical tables book so I had a better frame of reference.
Villa were so good back then too. Villa Park oozed mystique. I wanted to devour everything Villa and English football in general.
Villa hasn't featured much in these but if you love 90s Prem, these are a good watch.
Anti-Islam tweets. Not a good look for your local Muslim outreach efforts, which by virtue of the position itself, is clearly something the club is at least paying lip service to. But by retaining her, perhaps it is manifestly just lip service.
I think Dean was really hurt by the Villa sacking and he jumped to Norwich more out of spite against Villa and less about actually wanting to manage Norwich. I thought at the time that it seemed odd and that he should've taken the rest of the season off and had his choice of multiple jobs in the summer. Now his stock is tumbling and he may find it harder to get a high profile job now.
I hope he takes time off now and starts afresh in the summer or beyond.
