I listen to NPR. That's it. No point listening to the same old same old formula interspersed with commercials and inane DJ banter when I can play my own stuff on Spotify.
Radio in Boston in the 70s and early 80s was cool though. It hadn't become corporate yet.
It really makes my head implode how people worship the guy. He is a huge distraction. Give me Jim Proudfoot. Calls the game with a bit of panache but doesn't make a show of it.
And for all of Drury's verbosity, he often can't articulate key passages of play at all!
Things are playing out for him exactly as I thought they would.
Sad, because he'd be getting minutes with us and developing under Emery.
Instead, he rots under Potter and the bad vibes there.
Huge mistake by him.
He's like a gazelle when driving forward with the ball. We need to tie him down and keep developing him. There's room for improvement but he's a gifted young player and a joy to watch when he's in good form.
If we finish this season with gusto, and it's looking likely, we should be able to attract elite caliber players. It will be sad to see some of our stalwarts replaced in the starting 11, but it has to happen for us to keep progressing. This will be an incredibly exciting summer.
