The Kamara link doesn't impress me...We've just brought in Maloney, Bardsley, and Young, all still very young and along with Petrov and Carew, they all have yet to to prove themselves in the Premiership. With that said, I think we need proven players like Darren Bent, etc.

I disagree- The Carew deal was essentially an equal trade for Baros, meaning the only purchase this month has been Young, if you don't include Bardsley in the equation. I think there is more money to spend this month, and it will be spent!

I'd like to stress the importance of maintaining a traditional feel about Villa Park, both inside and out. I'd also like to see a few more rows of seats closer to the pitch, to increase the intimacy, atomosphere, and also the intimidation factor for opponents. I know you've got a top notch sports marketing man on the board, and increasing the profile of the club is certainly a positive, but I worry about being over-marketed, like Man U, to the point where one is not sure if the sport is the top priority. Although I know nothing of the sensibilities of your marketing man, I am wary of any American styled glitziness or showbiz-like asthetics being incorporated into AVFC, in any capacity. Nothing against the NFL or the NBA, but English Football, despite the present modernization and globification of it, still maintains a strong degree of simplicity and subtlety, from matchdays to telecasts, and everything else. Defoe aint coming to Villa. It will be someone like Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, short money, short deal, a stop-gap signing, just to right the ship and keep us competetive the rest of the year. RL is an astute businessman, MON an astute manager. Do not expext huge signings next month, just a couple of solid professionals who will solidify Villas' league position. Uefa Cup quaification would be a big success. The real Villa revolution will take place over the course of the next 3 years, sl,owly building a team that can play in the Bernabeu, Olympic stadium, etc. enjoy the Villa getting better, but let it happen in due course. We are still a ways off

I agree the shorts should be white. I also think the socks should be claret!!! And WTF is up with the yellow away strip? Disgraceful. Away strip should be white top, claret shorts, blue socks. The change strip should be all blue top, white shorts, red socks.

I'm not convinced Baros is the guy Villa should be chasing---He's a bit of a pretty boy. I like Borgetti, the Mexican, whom Bolton have been unable to sign. He's tough, skilled, taller and better in the air than Phillips or Angel.
