  1. Could they bribe him with a big pot of paella and sausages?
  2. I drink the milk of unneccessary forum threads
  3. One challenge per half is not excessive. That is why the manager would have to be wise in his usage of the challenge. You seem to think that the team who loses the challenge should be penalized.....I disagree. If they lose the challenge, the opposing team gains possession of the ball, and the game continues.... As to your point about managers having no real influence on what happens in the game........ :?
  4. That is why allowing a captain to make the challenge and not the manager is a bad idea. Booking the player for not being successful in his challenge is an even worse idea.
  5. Nah, you limit the amount of challenges to 1 each half, and you prohibit willy nilly usage of them, by limiting them to disputed goals, penalties, and dismissals.
  6. Yeah, that's why you limit the challenges to one each half. That way, you have more continuity of play, and the managers must be more prudent in their challenges. Booking the captain for dissent is clunky, kind of pointless and unneccesary. You put it in the hands of the managers (as it should be, I'd think), and if the video proves the ref got the call right, then the play stands, simple as that, and possession is rewarded to the team on the right side of the call.
  7. Tonight's Ireland game would have been the perfect time to use video replay technology to get a disputed call right. With so much riding on that "goal", I believe it is only fair to employ every tool at the referee's disposal to call the match correctly. My idea is simple: Allow each manager to make one challenge per half, and then, if extra time like tonight, an additional 2 challenges. You could only challenge goals, penalties and bookings that require dismissal. I think it is time to at least experiment with it, maybe at Euro 2012? What say you?
  8. Hitting them with level 3 frostshock doesn't actually count?
  9. Yes, depending on the circumstances. If she was charging after me with a knife, hell yes I would hit her. There are a number of scenarios whereby hitting a woman could be justified, and all of them would be cases in which someone's physical well being is put in jeopardy by the woman. But to hit a woman in an argument, or because she was cheating on you, or because she verbally abused you..... absolutely never.
  10. The stadium pics look like a blue Emirates. Not impressed at all. I'd love to see a new stadium built in a completly retro, Edwardian style, minus the wooden seats and obstructed views, but with all the modern conveniences and comforts. If they ever build a new stadium for Villa, I hope thats what they do.
  11. He's played a big role in the defence so far this year, and we're in 5th place. yeah, he's good enough
  12. Strong showing today. Gary Cahill looked AWFUL, haha. 3 points at home against crap opposition...done, time to move on. UTV
  13. I'd need at least 12 beers to even get the courage up.
  14. Did you see his goal yesterday? Classic Owen, right place, right time, well taken, a true poacher. If it werent for the injuries, he'd be the greatest English striker of all time. And he's still good. Yes
