I'm sorry but that is rubbish and mostly because it is a generalisation and you have put something there to fit your argument. I accept we arent going to spend a lot of money, that doesnt bother me, what does bother me is inept decision making i.e. the appointment of the manager. We all said that was a bad decision at the time and I think Alex is proving that and will continue to prove that. We arent going to win the league but what I do expect in each game is that we at least give it a good go about contesting that game, not wave the white flag before the whistle is blown. I expect the Owner to appoint a reasonable manager and what has Alex done to prove he is that?.....his record certainly doesnt prove that. We all dont want masses of money spent, yes we would love it but we understand reality and where we are as a club and you have to just stop using that as your argument because a few might and have said that. I want to be proud of my club and team, and when we lose at least I can walk away from the ground and know at least we tried.......I cannot say that after the Spurs game...... Why bother responding to the Blue Nose wind up merchant. He just posts the same every time and never reads/responds to anybodies actual post. I was thinking he's Blues....thick enough to be, anyway.

I think the manager should be graded as well as the players. He'd clearly get a "1"....Herd and Gabby were at least putting in a decent effort, Bannan showed some spirit when he came on, but everyone else was shit, including Given on the second goal. Yeah, Collins should have cleared it, but Given had it gift wrapped for him to gobble up, and he couldn't. The defenders are a bunch of cement footed hoofers, the midfield is a joke, Championship level stuff. They all stand around watching the guy with the ball instead of running into space and looking to attack. Nobody can keep the ball on the ground, it's all wing and a prayer stuff. This is not a top flight football outfit. We are watching a relegation-bound side right now.

I'm not entirely convinced that Lerner is actually able to identify what we can all clearly see. People sold him a bill of goods on AM, and he believes it, he's just reconfirmed that position. The only way out of this latest hole is to sink further into it, I'm afraid.

After reading the interview again, the thing that sticks out is his talking about Fergie's "letter of recommendation", and how it helped factor into their decision to hire AM. It's actually really embarrassing. Who gives a f*ck about what a RIVAL MANAGER has to say about our manager selection? In fact, you might want to consider doing the opposite of whet they suggest. Ferguson is probably having a good laugh right about now. It's more naivete from Lerner, getting all weak-kneed again over a big name manager.

Good timing, Richard. I just came down with something really nasty, for the first time in a few years. I can't talk, my throat is so sore. I woke up yesterday with a splitting headache and a mild sore throat. The headache faded, but the throat got worse, and I had a mild fever last night. The fever broke, but my throat is like a war zone. :cry:

Bent's value to the top clubs is even higher with the homegrown rules coming into effect. I'd think all of them will come sniffing around at some point.

Bent is better than Carroll, Bellamy, Kuyt, Sturridge and the new Torres....I'd also prefer him to Drogba at this point, and he isn't the sulking prick that Anelka is. Bent is good enough for each top 4 side.

Just finished a marathon session of Season 1 of "Game of Thrones".....Superb show, really good stuff if you like the Fantasy genre.

Just read the interview on the OS, and I have to say it is somewhat reassuring in tone. It just shouldn't have taken this long for him to speak. Hopefully he is more engaged with supporters going forward. Krulak is not around anymore, so it's got to be him. I still think he got the AM appointment wrong, but it's clear that the near term goal is to solidify upper-mid table status and try to sneak into Europe, most likely the Europa League. If we are to be owned by someone who cannot compete financially with the likes of Chelsea and Man City, then I'm happy we've got Randy Lerner. He's trying to get the club on solid financial footing in turbulent times, and that's to be applauded. The next two months could very well see us slide down the table, injuries could pile up, and everything put to the test. Let's hope his faith in AM pays off.
