  1. Not sure that's Burial, but it sounds like him, and it's pretty **** good, too.
  2. Even if you don't like the tune, it's worth watching for the girls alone...
  3. I don’t think anyone wants Ellis back, as wanting McLeish out wouldn’t necessarily mean that we would want Brian Little or John Gregory back. I think people might feel nostalgia for the era of Ellis rather than the reign of Ellis. That we played some nice football under Ellis and won some trophies, does not necessarily mean we think he was completely responsible for it. We know that Ellis ran Villa for his own benefit. Its hard to know what Lerner’s motivation is actually like. In the end the fact that Lerner wasn’t and isn’t Ellis has perhaps allowed him a free pass. That time is now over, and we are in a shambles. It feels like O’Leary’s final season and I wonder what the future holds. I'd take Little or Gregory in a heartbeat right now.
  4. Best part of that (as always) is the inevitable, incomprehensible comments... I think I'm going to start using "Shit my ass!" as an everyday expletive. It's strange listening to Argentinian Spanish. It's Spanish, but with the unmistakeable cadence of Italian.
  5. Lerner was the right man to take over at the time, but things have changed so quickly, he has suddenly become a hindrance to the advancement of the club. It's a mixed bag for sure, but I'd still take Lerner, hands down.
  6. If Ellis was still chairman, Huddersfield would be a big game
  7. Just when I thought things couldn't get more farcical, Lerner has invited the Villa coaching staff to shadow to Browns coaching staff for a few days in Cleveland to get some ideas.... That's just what we need, Randy. An inept manager getting advice from the staff of an inept American football club. Lerner is clueless, I'm amazed at this
  8. Leaving rivalries aside, I just can't see you guys doing too well this year. Right now I think both New York and Tampa Bay look stronger and I predict them to battle it out for 1st and 2nd in the AL East. I can't rule Boston out entirely but I'd honestly be surprised if you made the play offs. As for the Yankees, I'm optimistic. Signing Kuroda and trading for Pineda should significantly improve our rotation, as should getting rid of AJ, and the bullpen is already very, very good. As for the line-up it's pretty much the same as last year's but both A-Rod and Tex should have great potential for improvement from last year, as should production from the LHH DH compared to the Posada of last year's regular season. I like our chances. Yep, very good signings in Kuroda and Pineda. Texeira will be fine, I think A-Rod is on the decline, as is Jeter.
  9. Strange inflammatory rhetoric from the Israelis, considering it was a fairly low level suicide bombing in a country that is not much of a player in international politics, and certainly not one with an impact on Middle East politics. It does suggest to me the Israel are trying to prepare it's allies for what Mossad will be engaging in. But if things go really sour with Iran, I hope and pray that we let Israel fight it's own fight. I want nothing to do with them.
  10. Keep dreaming, a land war in Iran is not going to happen, at least involving the US. Maybe some drones and naval skirmishes, but no Iraq-style invasion.

    Chelsea

haha, yep, I'd take him in heartbeat
  12. Getting 20 mill for Downing may have been the best business we've done for some time. Pure robbery.
  13. My slow slog up the table continues....I've managed to get Silva, Bale, V. Persie and Ba in my team. Pilkington has been a nice surprise for what I paid him for a while back. Still, my awful start to this thing means no matter how well I keep doing, I doubt I'll even crack the top 25.

    Chelsea

Looks like the Chelsea players have had enough of AVB...bit of a row the other day after training, apparently. RA got involved in the arguing, too. I'd loved to have witnessed that one RA sacked Ancelotti for AVB, so he's kind of painted himself into a corner. And why did they buy Gary Cahill only to let him rot on the bench? Torres is a has-been, it's all over for him, at least in England. Mata got off to a blazing start, but he's gone awfully quiet since... An aging team going nowhere fast, IMO.... I love it.
  15. Downing's demise is one of the bright spots for me this season
  16. I think the kid is plain stupid, and I wouldn't be shocked if he did something really idiotic again, and soon. He can't handle the spotlight, I think.
  17. Someone in Rhode Island won the Powerball jackpot on Saturday. $210,000,000.00 after taxes. Not too shabby, eh?
  18. No doubt. For the last 2 months there has been this reverberating sound of a pile driver engulfing my neighborhood. (There's a big construction site about 1/2 mile away) Virtually non-stop from 9-4, seven days a week. :x
  19. I love him for what he's done in the past, but this....this is just pathetically awful. He's become a glorified lounge singer who can't even sing on key. And the song sucks, to boot.
  20. Anyone have a link to the Dalglish interview?
  21. The owners came out Sunday and said Suarez' actions Saturday were "unacceptable"... We'll see what they do from here...they don't want to suspend him further themselves, seeing where they are in the table...but they also don't want the reputation of the club sullied any more...I personally think they should suspend him for one game and fine him. Then monitor him the rest of the season and if he acts out like the word removed he is, then I'd sell him this summer. He's turning into a worse signing than Andy Carroll.
