  1. The reporter didn't quit of his own volition, he was removed from his beat by the paper, and left in limbo for 6 weeks. THEN he quit.
  2. Very good read and good analysis. I've bookmarked that blog, looks interesting. Much of what he's spelled out is what most of us already know, but it's still a nicely succinct and unbiased assessment of where Villa are at. If anything, the article should remind people that Lerner has spent a FORTUNE since he bought the club, and hasn't saddled it with debt like the Glazers. He gave it an honest push to get to the CL promised land, and it didn't work out. Now we are licking our wounds and righting the ship. I take a strong measure of solace in the fact that Lerner will not burden the club through fiscal mismanagement. But I do worry about his man management, and how it is presently costing the club. His biggest mistake besides hiring McGash was blindly handing the shop keys to MON. MON was a complete IDIOT in regards to some of the useless riff raff he brought in on massive wages. The fact that Lerner and his flunkies didn't/couldn't understand that the players being bought were not deserving of their wages speaks volumes. That is the clear deficiency with Lerner. He, Faulkner, and whoever else is making the big decisions up there are not knowledgable enough in the on the pitch aspects of the business, and it's haunting us right now.
  3. Arsenal just agreed terms with Lucas Podolski to join them after the season ends....I think Wenger keeps his job, and if he adds a couple more decent players, they'll be right back in the hunt.

He's a sharp observer and I know where he's going with his comedy, but ultimately I'm left wanting. His material is just not strong enough to warrant top comic status, IMO...and his delivery is just a bit too matter of fact...I think a great comic's stage persona should be more outwardly....funny.
  5. A women in Boston faked cancer a few years back. She had friends and family donating tens of thousands of dollars for her "treatments", which in reality were trips to the Caribbean, jewelry, a new luxury car, plastic surgery, etc. She was found out, but nobody got their money back. Sick minds out there....
  6. Is he a bit dim by any chance? If it was due any week and there was no bump, no scans, no midwife appointments most people would have twigged! Reminded me of a story a few years back, a player for Tamworth FC (something Colley) faked cancer and kept it up for half a year, he even shaved his head. The club had a fund raising event for the treatment he said he needed in America. He eventually came clean and was fired. He's young and naive, that's for sure. And despite the shock and sadness that he's probably feeling right now, it'll soon turn to relief. Fella just dodged a bullet. That's the type of girl that slices off parts of the male anatomy when angry...
  7. "FIFA are investigating the claim".... Also known as doing nothing at all
  8. I work with a 21 year old kid whose girlfriend just had her baby shower. He just bought a new car and moved them into a new apartment, started buying clothes and things for the baby which was due any week now. Then the bomb dropped on him. Turns out the pleasantly plump girlfriend was LYING about her pregnancy the whole time in a sad attempt at holding onto him. I guess push came to shove, and she had to come clean. A nervous breakdown ensued, and she was admitted to the psycho ward. Her parents (who live abroad), are coming to town next week to bring her home.
  9. I like the borderless crest on the yellow shirt...nice idea. Too clean and classy for it to happen though. Whoever had the final say on the new badge had it stuck in their head that traditional meant big and clunky...
  10. I just found out a good friend needs a kidney transplant. Poor bastard can't catch a break in life.
  11. Just saw Ashley Young's two goals...both beauties. The second looked a lot like his winner for us against Everton a few years ago.

100% absolutely this. If I was a prospective manager, I wouldn't come unless there was a standing agreement to get rid of the poison in the dressing room, and it would start with Terry & Lampard, good though they might be. They're not even very good anymore..
  13. Well that's a kick in the nuts. I had David Silva as captain, and he didn't play today!
  14. I tried, I really did, but I just couldn't get into Portal. I felt like each phase was a school homework assignment.
  15. Teddy Sheringham was a top striker all the way until he reached age 40. I've no problem at all with a 32 year old, and I don't know why anyone would. It's hardly ancient.
  16. I wore glasses and contacts for 18 years. Hated everything about both. I got laser surgery 8 years ago. Best thing I've ever done besides give up cigarettes.
  17. It's 5AM and I can't sleep
