  1. Is Krulak no longer a board member? If so, that's another dose of good news today No more "lads" this and "lads" that....dunno about you, but I saw right through his bullshit from Day 1...
  2. YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just read the news now. I expected this, and I really thought it would happen today as well. Very happy to see swift and decisive action by the board for a change. Hopefully this McLeish experiment taught them a few things. To a word, the statement by Faulkner read very nicely, it must be said. Let's hope they get the next appointment right. It's a big moment for AVFC. They can't **** this one up. It would be pretty hard to do worse than they already have... It's nice to have hope again! UTV!
  3. I'm a supporter of equal rights
  4. A legend and a gentleman. Sad news. RIP, Duck.

I think it was a cunning little move there by Tevez. I think he was trying to provoke that response, and he got it.
  6. Absolutely amazing final day...stuff of legend, really. I love English football
  7. AMC will be shown the door on Monday. Poyet will be hired by the end of the month at the latest.
  8. No chance AMC remains manager. Lerner might be a bit daft, but he's not THAT clueless.... :?
  9. Did you know that dinosaurs were killed off by their own farts?
  10. If I were you, I'd skip Mexico and start in Costa Rica. Then Panama, Colombia and Ecuador. Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua have less to offer...unless you want to experience more gritty less tourist-friendly countries, which those are.
  11. Enter President Hollande....it will be interesting to see how he approaches Germany on austerity matters and how he handles internal ethnic politics... Meanwhile the National Front won 17% of the vote....
  12. I prefer the days of one commentator instead of the constant yammering you get now.
  13. David Pleats voice is one of the most annoying in the world of footballing commentators. Hate him with a passion! Hehe, there's something grandpa-like about him that I find strangely comforting to the ear.
  14. Kind of sums up my earlier point. Who cares? I guess we should, shouldn't we? Do you honestly think Collins performs to be best of his potential being, some say, a pisshead? At least I care about that. Loads of players do this all the time? Really? Maybe some of the second and third best do. Are ManU players doing "this" "all the time"? Arsenal? Surely not. Best teams act in a professional manner. We don't. One reason why we are where we are. Absolutely not the only reason, but definately one of them. What players get up to in their personal lives is irrelevant. I just don't care about it at all. If you do, fine, but I personally don't. Players aren't paid to behave like Saint Agnes of Rome - they're paid to play football. Well said. Load of bollox - if we were doing well nobody would give a damn. You've hit the nail on the head. Because we are not doing well, this situation gets magnified. More negativity on top of a season of it. I think that's why some people on here are making a meal of it. It doesn't thrill me either, to be honest. Just shows that AMC has little control over his players. It's just one more depressing story to wrestle with, and people are worn down by the negativity this year. I understand that in the big picture, this is small beans. But short term it is a negative distraction when the team needs to be focused on staying up. This is no time to be getting into brawls in nightclubs. What if one of the players got his leg broken? It's just not what we need right now.
  15. I've heard him twice this season, and I thought he was very good. Better than most. I like John Gregory, too. I think he's overlooked a bit. I have to say David Pleat is good as well, he knows what he's talking about, and his voice isn't grating.
  16. Cheers! Well, you need a little bit of luck to see the closer anyway so I hadn't counted on seeing Mo pitch. It'll be great just going to the Stadium for the first time. Delighted to hear Mo will come back, though. Made me feel better after feeling worse than I have about sports for a long time after the news broke this morning. You'll cheer right up when you walk up the ramp and gaze over the field at Yankee Stadium. The first time you enter a ballpark is something that sticks with you. I hope you have a great time, Marius!
  17. If the team weren't so awful, this incident would be laughed at most likely, however bad it makes them look... and it doesn't make them look good. But with the club teetering at the precipice, antics like this just don't sit well with me, and I'm sure for many others. It's just more negativity in a season of pure negativity.
  18. He might have been a gold medal winner if he looked after himself better. Doubt it, he's still the British Record holder and world junior record holder 20 years later, very few people have jumped higher since that day I'm pretty sure he meant that as a light hearted, tongue-in-cheek comment... But that's cool you have a friend that is so accomplished
  19. Exactly what went through my head too, makes my skin crawl!! That link takes you to a video that's been removed. What was it??
