  1. TBH, it's all gravy from here. McLeish is gone, any of the 3 candidates mentioned above are all huge upgrades.
  2. OGS is the more exciting choice, with greater upside. Lambert is less exciting, but probably the safer choice. But after a season of abject boredom, I'd like to see Ole get the gig.
  3. Meh, Ferguson didn't have any experience managing in England when he took over at United. I think having PL experience on your CV is overrated....as we've obviously just spent the last 10 months witnessing.... Ole knows the league, knows the culture, knows the players, was schooled by a master, coached the Man U reserves....IMO, he's ready. I'm not concerned at all.
  4. I recently read on here that PF is English, but I always thought he was American....can someone clarify this for me?
  5. would you be happy? he was coming over for a discrete chat, everyone found out, their main sponsor pulled out, hes been called illoyal by his own club, he might end up getting fired, without getting the villa job. Hes gotten alot of stick from different directions id be pretty pissed off if that happened to be honest He was told he can talk to us but they advised against it (I believe?) so, they gave permission and for that reason it is wrong to threaten the removal of the main sponsor, to make out he is not loyal and to make him look a bad person and to then put him in front of cameras about it. They have shown a complete disregard to him over this. Shocking behaviour and he is certainly right to be angry. Yep, small time stuff from the money men over there....that said, OGS didn't do himself any favors by flying to England without mentioning it to them first. Seems like the whole thing wasn't handled well by most parties involved. Nonetheless, Molde have to know that OGS is ambitious, and that a move back to England was inevitable. Pretty shoddy behavior towards the guy that just won them the league. I hope Randy tables a fair offer and OGS accepts and signs on the line which is dotted, early next week. I expect this to happen. It seems like his position at Molde is untenable at this point.
  6. Yep, sounds more like pen was put to paper. They'll wait until after Molde play on Sunday, and do the presser on Mon or Tues
  7. Same here. To me it all sounds corny, saccharine and tepid. Never understood the fuss.
  8. I'm gonna guess that there will be a press conference next Tuesday to make the announcement.
  9. I think it hinges on OGS, not Randy. If Randy flew him to Brum for talks, to me, that's essentially offering him the job. Does he want the job, that's the question. He's got a nice comfy setup in Molde, AND Champion's League football to play. He could bide his time in Norway, while managing in CL games along the way, and then take over for SAF in three years. Randy needs to sell the job well, IMO.
  10. Really sad news. Growing up in Boston in the 70's, there was extra excitement about her because she was from here. She was just a huge figure in pop music for that brief late 70's era. I can't say I was a true fan, cuz rock music was my thing, but she was respected by even the hardest rock fan, because she was a natural talent with a kick ass voice. She was a real class act, and she'll be missed. R.I.P.
  11. Seeing as this came out of the blue....you have to think he's the one. If he is the next manager, I'll be very excited, if nervous...but happy nonetheless. He's led Molde to their first title in 100 years, and apparently likes to play a positive brand of attacking football. This is the anti-McLeish choice. If Lerner gives him some spending money, things will turn around quickly, in my opinion.

    Quiz!

    100 Goal Club I got 13/20 :x
  13. Here ya go That bit in bold terrifies me. Yeah, I was enjoying the article until I read that bit
  14. Nato Summit AND the G-8 meeting this month.....it does make you wonder.
  15. Big Ron saying he was mistreated by Villa because of the SHA connection....fool.
  16. I'd bring back Makoun, ship out Hutton, Warnock, Collins and Heskey. I'd try to retain Cuellar. I'd target 2 CM, a RB and a LB. I'd work on ball retention, especially in MF, passing, improving link up play, and defending set pieces. Done.
  17. Who the f*ck buys 20 luxury cars? What a complete idiot. You never like to hear about someone on the brink like that, but how can you be so stupid?
  18. I'm over the moon now that he's gone...that was pure torture. He's gone, we stayed up, hopefully we've turned a corner and Lerner has learned his lesson. But on a human being level, I feel for AMC, because the guy was hated from day one and could never change that fact. He seems like a decent enough guy, and I wish him the best. Hopefully he learned a few things as well and is able to improve as a football manager.
  19. We need a manager who will have the respect and a sliver of fear from the players...Villas-Boas let the Chelsea players walk all over him. He seemed a bit clueless at times as well over the course of his time with them. I think Poyet is the strongest choice, but just about anyone would be a massive improvement!
  20. Hmmm he did come on this morning and claim that McLeish would be gone today, before the story broke to any newspaper. I said on Sunday that he'd be sacked yesterday. I think MM's stock fell when he said AMC would not be hired.
  21. Roberto Martinez doesn't really thrill me, to be honest....I think we should be shooting a bit higher than him at this point.
  22. Well, considering my terrible first 3 months languishing near the very bottom of the table, I did quite well on the whole, finishing in the top 90. Gonna win it all next year
