  1. Most likely Spain-Germany, which would be the best matchup IMO... They are the two best sides in Europe right now, if not the entire world. Can't wait for Sunday.
  2. I noticed at points during the Italy game, even in the 1st half, England looked tired. Minimal movement off the ball, players just not hustling into space. They were playing a counterattacking game, but too many times when the break was on, nobody was running.
  3. Young is very predictable- a run down the side, stop, take two touches back to his right, and put in a cross or sky a shot over the bar. He doesn't offer a whole lot, really. He'll destroy the Faroe Islands and Malta, but any strong side have him easily contained.
  4. If England had won it on penalties, they'd have gotten slaughtered by Germany. Just not enough quality. Spain and Germany are on an entirely different level. Italy bossed the game and deserved to win, really. But what was Ashley Cole thinking. That was a comedy penalty kick. Diana Ross style. What was Roy doing having Cole go before Carroll, Parker or Walcott? Ridiculous. When Young hit the bar, I knew it was over for England anyway... All in all, a decent showing...time to bleed the youth and phase out players like Terry, Barry, Ferdinand, Cole, Gerrard, Parker...
  5. England look tired... Roy should make 3 changes at halftime, bring on Walcott, Defoe and Downing and just go for it. The way they're playing now, they'll lose.
  6. I'm not ashamed to be rooting for England, even though I'm Italian-American... Come on England!
  7. Dion Dublin Luc Nilis* Paul Merson Olof Mellberg Martin Laursen Ashley Young Darren Bent** * Had he not broke his leg, he would have been a Villa legend ** Single handedly saved us from relegation last year

    Syria

I thought Russia were evacuating their nationals and scolding Assad... But if they're actually helping to arm him, it's probably down to exactly what you said. They wouldn't like another toppled strong man, considering the unrest at home in Russia. Rusia and China will want to protect their investments in Syria, and might view a new regime as pro-West, and therefore a threat. Fascinating chess match, this one. With Turkey getting sucked into it, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia too...very dicey situation.
  9. Yeah, the idea was former Villa players who are still playing...I should have been more clear.

    Syria

If Syria can prove the Turkish jet was in their airspace, it will limit what Turkey will do...on the other hand, if the jet was in international airspace, it's game on. With the Saudis openly supporting the rebels and Turkey possibly on the march, it's not looking good for Assad. Putin has distanced himself now too, so the endgame is approaching, in all likelihood.
  11. That said, shocking defending by Greece
  12. Watching Germany kick it into 5th gear, I can't help but think it'll be Germany-Spain in the final. 4 goals with Gomez and Podolski on the bench....frightening
  13. Seems AVB has a very high opinion of himself in regards to his negotiation with Spurs...he wants to be the ONLY candidate, lol. Sorry Andre, but your record in England sucks
  14. For me, there's George Carlin from the late 80's-until he died period...and nobody else comes close. Too many shit comics for me to list.

    Acupuncture

Thinking about getting this done...anyone have success with this?
  16. A hostile Egypt is Israel's worst case scenario...the weapons will flow freely to Gaza, and it'll be game on.
  17. Not sure, but looking at it I'm guessing around 22,000... I'd love it if Bob Kraft built something like that in Boston...we're one of the last MLS clubs to still play in an NFL stadium...total joke of a situation, really.
  18. I was only just turned 10 a few days prior but I remember it very well. Being a stupid 10 year old I kept hoping the drama would keep going and going and was quite disappointed when it eventually fizzled out. It's a strange thing that, isn't it? The desire for a terrible calamity to get worse...like when a huge hurricane begins to die down when it gets closer to land...
  19. I'm guessing Croatia and Spain have come to an agreement today
  20. I'd say my 6 week jaunt in Greece when I was 21...it was a great adventure- chasing girls, smoking hashish, a brush with death on a scooter, running out of money and sleeping in a cave, making fast friends, island hopping, seeing the ruins in Athens, getting in a fight, cheering on Denmark with a bunch of Swedes in the Cup final, getting drunk on Ouzo, reading a fantastic book, getting the best tan I've ever had, eating a copious amount of souvlaki sandwiches, all in the most amazing, ancient, sun soaked setting...and not knowing that it would be the highlight of my life.
  21. Holland have no heart as a team...so much quality, so little self-belief
