This topsy turvy stuff isn't good for the blood pressure, but it beats the piss out of last year! A spanking by Soton followed by a thrashing of Man City followed by a tooth and nail point at home vs WBA. It all leaves me wondering what's gonna happen next? It really is trial by fire for the youngsters, and so far they're passing the test. The spirit and belief is there, now we just need a run of wins to move up the table. Swindon will not be pushovers, but I expect to win that one. 7/10

I'm not discouraged by the result. We showed resolve and spirit to battle back. I predicted 1-1, and so it was. It's a pretty good West Brom side this year, so with the work in progress that is this young Villa side, it's a decent result. Plenty of room to improve though. KEA needs to put his stamp on the game more and not be afraid to run forward into space. We know he can score goals. Benteke was poor, and I expect to see him on the bench next match. Gabby and Bent have earned their starting spots. Holman is a Tasmanian Devil, just force of nature. I love his fearlessness. MOTM for me. Bennett looked good, as did Albrighton. Zog looked like typical Zog. Needs to be sold. It IS 2 points dropped at home, so I can't be happy, but at least the belief is there, for the players and supporters alike.

I was traveling all day Tuesday, and couldn't catch any of the game, but when I saw the final score online, my jaw dropped. This is what we've been missing, the feeling that on our day, we can beat anyone. It's been a wild ride, and it's not even October. I'm absolutely loving this.

For me, it's a win-win: A good result would be great of course, but a loss against a side like them is nothing to be ashamed of, and getting bounced from the League Cup gives us more time to focus on the league and the FA Cup. And who knows, maybe PL will tap up James Milner after the match... 8)
