  1. Of course the week that I drop Benteke, he scores
  2. Lerner is going to have to spend big again this January...he'll have to break his own rule by paying someone (or two) big wages in a roll of the dice to keep us up... If I was Lerner and saw the guy I spent 24m on sitting on the bench for the 3rd straight game, I'd want answers. Lerner is not without blame, but he did go sign the manager most supporters were clamoring for, and he did give him 20m to spend. We needed 2 CB's, a DMF and a striker, and Lambert went out and got them.

    Relegation

I never really thought we'd go down last year...but now, now that we have this brilliant young manager and his hotshot signings...and we are still playing hoofball and getting outplayed by crap teams at home....I'm starting to think relegation is possible. The only thing that will save us at this rate is how terrible the teams around us are too.
  4. He got the team, tactics and substitutions all wrong today....and some of his signings are being found out (KEA in particular just isn't good enough) Very worrying times with the fixtures ahead of us
  5. My DVR farted and erased 10 minutes of the game and I missed their goal and the sending off. Judging by Guzan's MOTM votes, he saved a penalty? Anyway, what I did see was total shit Bent and Benteke need to form a partnership, and there is no good reason for keeping Bent on the bench, just makes no sense. And then to sub Benteke FOR Bent...it's like a wasted substitution. To bring on Lichaj for Gabby 5 minutes into the second half is diabolical...I knew we'd let them back in it right then. That's a move to be made 25 minutes later. Holman-Delph-KEA-Albrighton has got to be the most lightweight midfield in all of top flight football. I'm afraid KEA is not good enough, and Delph seems to always run sideways. The most disturbing thing is we came out and just started hoofing it... I'm becoming disillusioned with Lambert..this has been a horror month for Villa.

    Quiz!

Haha, I know what you mean. I spent 5 minutes trying to remember Gavin McCann
  7. Cape Verde making their Cup of Nations debut...can't see it ending very well for them...
  8. Looks like I'm due for a correction...I really should be more like 5-2, considering my #1 and #3 pick have missed most of their games...I'm hoping Reggie Wayne has another big game and that my D comes up big...
  9. I'm sitting comfortably second from bottom

    Quiz!

Aston Villa Premier League Goal Scorers 50/95 .....and I missed Darren Bent.
  11. Of course they weren't. But if you were to ask their fans about it, they would not be happy about it! I'm all in favor of pre-season games abroad, but not regular season games.
  12. Pablo Sandoval has hit THREE home runs in his first three at bats, the first two off Verlander.
  13. His spokeswoman said he "disagrees" with the comment, but "supports" the candidate. Typical Romney, having it both ways.
  14. If we struggle with this one, I'll be officially questioning the wisdom of Lambert's management. I'm struggling to make a prediction because I have no idea what Villa are made of right now. F*ck it, 0-0.
  15. Mitt Romney reaffirmed his support for a Republican senate candidate who said in a debate last night that pregnancy due to rape is God's will...
  16. A team full of youngsters basically bossed a Man City side full of superstars...hopefully Paul Lambert was watching that match and taking notes...
  17. She's talented enough to do better work than all the fluffy romantic comedies she does. I'd like to see her in a challenging dramatic role for once.
  18. Gareth Barry looked so old and slow, I'm guessing we won't be seeing much more of him playing in a light blue shirt.
  19. Houston is a new expansion club who are about 10 years old now...so not much history or much success. San Fran has a great tradition of winning, and having some legendary players. Of the two, I'd pick San Fran. That said, if you go with Houston, 50 years from now, you can say you've been supporting them almost since their inception!
  20. The farce of regular season games in London continues this weekend with a Rams-Patriots tilt. I'm happy for all the NFL enthusiasts and fan clubs in Britain who will be heading to Wembley for this, but I feel bad for St. Louis fans, who have lost one of only eight home games to this bizarre marketing scheme by Goodell. Anyways, I predict Pats 21- Rams 16
  21. This should be a fun series, two old timey clubs, cold weather, good stadiums, and top talent. I've got to give the edge to Detroit who will have Verlander available to start 3 games if necessary. And I do think it'll go 7 games. Detroit in 7.
