Texas, second only to California in electoral votes, will be a swing state as early as 2020, with all the Hispanics there. When Texas goes blue, it is officially over for the GOP in presidential elections. There will be no way back, unless they reconfigure their platform with regards to immigration policy, but that's a slippery slope because they run the risk of losing some of their base support. They are well and truly f*cked.

It depends on the political leanings of the president and his Justice Department. In 1962, JFK sent federal marshals down to University of Mississippi to force the school to admit a black student, which was against the state law at the time. Marijuana growers were shocked that Obama went after them so hard...who knows, he may turn into the "liberal" people thought they were voting for the first time.

Colorado and Washington state both voted to legalize recreational use of cannabis, Oregon surprisingly voted it down. Massachusetts voted for medical legalization and Physician Assisted Suicide... Maine and Maryland voted for marriage equality. Good to see some progressive measures pass.
