After the Bradford fiasco, Lambert was not looking good at all, but I thought he could come through it ok, and he has. He's stuck to his guns and the players believe in him. He's also rather shrewd in the transfer market, which bodes well for the future. Onward and upward!

I actually think Helenius was the insurance policy if we lost Benteke. I think PL is finished with signing any more strikers.

I have a feeling Lambert deployed Yacouba Sylla to turn the screws a bit. The fact that he did an about face in 48 hours is stunning. He may have taken a look at the new boys, looked at the spirit of the team, realized he was hanging out in the wind and decided to stay put. This sends a huge message to the league too. Aston Villa will not be trifled with.
