  1. Lennon uses that same sliding riff to close out "The Ballad of John and Yoko"
  2. Erm, the Beatles played and recorded other people's music up until about 1964. After that, it was all original material. Lucky? Hardly. They played their fingers off in England and Germany for a good few years before they broke out big time.
  3. "Chariots of Fire" by Vangelis
  4. You mean what was believed to be the largest? I'm gonna guess...Madagascar
  5. Gold ribbon to villa4europe!
  6. Yeah, they've rubbished the idea already, and they don't need the money, but they'd be an instant smash, even if they sucked, and they probably would...
  7. I'd love it if their sons formed "The Beatles Next Generation" Just to see the spectacle. They'd make millions from the get go
  8. What city produced the most rum during the colonial era?
  9. In my opinion, a major mistake that Lerner made was not keeping Steve Stride on, at least as a "bridge" for some continuity, and to help Lerner assimilate into his new business culture. Hiring MON was not a mistake in and of itself. Allowing him to go hog wild with his money on dodgy signings with no checks on his privileges was the mistake. Had we had someone there with experience, to guide Lerner, he wouldn't have let his naivety get the best of him, and the club.
  10. Considering that they've been made into musical deities, yes, they are overrated. They were just a rock n roll band, after all. But they are still one of the best rock bands that ever was. How they squeezed all those songs into just a 7 year run is incredible. And the way the sound evolved was pretty astounding too. Without each other, their musical limitations were exposed, though. With each other, they had undeniable chemistry and a ton of tunes that for whatever reason, mean a lot to millions of people.
  11. R.I.P. Todd Christensen, the great Raiders TE, far too young at 57...
  12. A Nuyorican ode to the famous Havana boulevard, and a classic 70's salsa tune:
  13. Some "what might have beens" Nilis Allback Hitz Bradley
  14. I think Laursen was around long enough not to be tagged with the "what might have been" label. We saw what he was for a while, and he was brilliant!
  15. If they have a sniff of an automatic CL birth, or even the league, then they might pay up. Arsenal could very well be a destination, too.
  16. I don't think there's any chance whatsoever of that happening If we are firmly mid table and unlikely to get drawn into a relegation fight, he could easily be sold if he pushes for it again and we get our price.
  17. I think Tekkers will be sold in January, probably to Spurs. We'll buy that other striker from Genk for 1/6th of our Benteke haul and call it a day.
  18. Sad day, that. Man he looked promising yes very sad what a brilliant debut goal he scored. Indeed
  19. Nice, shiny, fresh looking apples that are all mealy and dry inside.
