Utter humiliation for them this season, but who will shed a tear for them? Looking ahead to next year, I can't see them challenging for much of anything again, to be honest.

Hopefully Lambert doesn't get all Lamberty and change everything for this one. Same game plan please. Pressure them and play a high defensive line, keep them on the back heel. They'll probably send Adam out to break Delph's leg, so if we can avoid that, we should win this one. 2-0 to Villa.

Hazard had him well beat on one move near the corner, but other than that, he shut them down. I hope his head isn't turned by the usual suspects. Definitely a player we need to keep.

He does this move where he kind of drags the ball back with his left foot and pinballs it onto his right foot while passing whoever is defending him. It's a slick little maneuver, and it's all his own, I don't see any other player doing that. Fun player to watch when his confidence is up and he's got some freedom and space. Ridiculous goal. I'd love to see him crack the England team, but I doubt it'll happen with Hodgson at the helm.

Mourinho and Lambert have a strange relationship. They go from inside joke giggling best buddies to homicidal hatred for each other. Bizarre.

There's few better sights than the Holte End exploding with joy after a goal of that magnitude. Awesome.

Incredible. I forgot what this feeling felt like. I want more of it! Fantastic team victory, Lambert got it right tonight, they set up to win the game and not sit back trying to wrangle a point out of it. Delph deserves the plaudits, he was positive all night. Westwood had a very good game, credit where it's due. Benteke was lively and came close twice. The back four made things very hard on Chelsea. Great discipline from them. The referee was a bit card-happy, Willian should not have been sent off, but some crap officiating in our favor was overdue... Ramires is a disgrace, Mourinho getting shown the exit was icing on the cake. I haven't heard Villa Park that loud in ages. When we play positively and the players give their all, Villa Park can and should be a fortress. This result seems to prove that we are good enough to stay up. Massive result, really proud of the boys, proud of the supporters, proud of the manager for having faith in his players. Over the moon right now. UTV!

Excellent first half, just the final ball and final touch that have been lacking. I can't help but think we'll concede a goal within the first 5minutes of the second half though. Good things happen when you don't just sit back and defend, no matter who the opposition is. Winnable game, but I'd be thrilled with just a point, tbh.
