Bertrand signing is far from a sure thing, as is Bennett continuing to improve. I'd hope the club keep hold of Luna, he's young, he's got ability, and he's on low wages. Ideally we'd keep all three.

Not only that, he has an easy but focused on-air demeanor, which makes him stand out from the crowd. Listening to Tony Gale earlier was doing my head in.

Yep, Shearer was clearly not intimidated by Keane, but if I had to put money on it, I'd bet that Keane would win (having been trained as a boxer, and apparently a decent one). But in a brawl, anything's possible, I guess. And Shearer was no shrinking violet.

As long as there is no accountability, FIFA can operate basically like the Mafia, or the Vatican. And they do. Until Blatter and his flunkies are threatened to be brought before The Hague, they'll carry on, business as usual.

It really is maddening. And depending on how this Russia v The West spat plays out over the next few years, the WC in Russia could be thrown into a state of confusion. It should've been Australia 2018 and England 2022. No controversy, no scandal, just football. Shame on FIFA.
