  1. Their badge puts everything into proper perspective I think...
  2. Sir Larry Wildman? He could buy and sell Gordon Gekko 20 times over...
  3. I take back my jump the shark comment, that episode was AWESOME. Not many scary creatures on TV and movies creep me out. The White Walkers absolutely do.
  4. Was the rumor/story started by TBAR or The Telegraph?
  5. Van Gaal will probably be already lining Vlaar up as (one of) Ferdinand's replacements.
  6. Watched The Wolf of Wall Street last night and was pleasantly surprised. Relentlessly paced flick. Dragged on in a couple of spots (typical Scorcese), but was really good. DiCaprio is a brilliant actor, it must be said. 8/10.
  7. I want MLS to improve...but I'm not sure I want to envision a future where it becomes the vastly superior league to all others in the world...if we could be on par with the Dutch league in terms of quality and fan support, I'd be thrilled. But for me, MLS has a replica league feel to it, like the embarrassing "Real" Salt Lake, Chivas USA, etc. A lack of total authenticity is what still keeps me from paying much attention to MLS. That and the still often dreadful level of play. Sorry for going so far OT...
  8. I agree. It's a disgrace we have to resort to this against a promoted team at our own ground but let's just get that point and get this season over with. This has proven to be a failed tactic for most of the season. Set up not to lose and we lose. We have some players who can cause some problems when they play positively. If we don't try to go out there and beat Hull City at home, we might as well forfeit a place in this division right now.
  9. I was surprised by that flick. Very enjoyable. That said, not sure I'd want to watch it again.
  10. Great stuff, that Czech team was scary good.

  12. The Premier League has been a massive success for NBC. Even sports fans here who don't like (soccer) know who Wayne Rooney is, who Arsenal are, etc. It's becoming part of the collective sports consciousness. The gear I see in the Boston area is Liverpool, Celtic, Man U, and then a drop off. After that, I see Chelsea and Arsenal, but no other British clubs. I see plenty of Flamengo and Palmeiras, Benfica and Porto, and some Real Madrid and Barca shirts, usually worn by Central Americans.
  13. Can't wait, this one is going to be bloody!
  14. I was talking football with two Spaniards at work last night. The subject of the Luis Aragones-Thierry Henry controversy came up. One of the guys said because Aragones called Henry a "Little monkey", and not "Monkey", it wasn't really a racist thing to say, and because there aren't many black people in Spain, they really can't be racists anyway.
  15. Amazing that crap like that actually makes it on TV. Maybe not that amazing, most TV is total crap.
  16. Ouch. Does most of the burden fall on you now?
  17. We might pull off a shock and beat Hull! Your statement really sums up how pathetic we are. "Aston Villa need SHOCK win against HULL to avoid relegation" Exactly! We're going into a home game against Hull expecting not to win. What has happened?! Martin O'Neill happened.
  18. Looking forward to the very funny Brummie John Oliver's debut "news show" on HBO tomorrow night.
  19. He's gone, even if Lerner doesn't sell. The fury Lerner will feel from supporters if he announces that he's not selling will force an appeasement move (sacking Lambert).
