  1. If the issue is 12-3pm why didn't we just make it an evening kick off?
  2. I'm gobsmacked there is talk on these pages of Bruce being sacked. We got results when he started, he had a bad patch, now we are on a good patch. If we hadnt had started so badly under RDM then maybe we'd be in a play off place. With the midfield we have now I think the higher end of that wouldve been achievable under Bruce. The pretty stuff isnt there but the results are coming.....roll on next season I say
  3. So we need to change our song a little "We're by far the greatest team, the world China has ever seen"
  4. Boom! Love Tony Xia! Fans asking Tony about silly things gets a great response lol
  5. Yep I'm hoping it's a fairly quiet transfer period to be honest because we need players to settle and get used to each other. A few key acquisitions and maybe a few back up players should see us well for next season promotion push. We have some of the best players from recent seasons of the Championship and hopefully over the next five months they gel in time for the start of the new season.
  6. I reckon Messi would struggle playing for us
  7. ok forget the game at the weekend, I would just like to walk away from a game and think wow Grealish won that game for us, or Grealish really made the difference in that game or without Grealish we would never have won that game. Surely that is the type of player he is supposed to be, "the difference maker". Yet in all his appearances if I struggle I could only make a handful of games that came close to that. So while that continues, the downsides of his game will get more focus because what else is there!
  8. Whether he's good or bad which seems to be split opinion on here, he's a luxury we can't afford at the moment given his style. Needs to be put on the bench for a fair while and let's get our style sorted and confidence back in the team.
  9. I don't get it. Most expensive team first half of the season and we were bad, 6 changes in this team from January transfers and new manager but it's the same. WTF is going on.
  10. Yeah I agree we started to look better and then Grealish gets sent off. Not sure I agree with both strikers being subbed
  11. Messi, has to be....hasnt signed his new contract at Barca. I can feel it in my water!!! Messi and the Kodj, perfect duo!
  12. wouldnt care if he was banging in the goals and then he was then drinking himself to high heaven most nights.....most of our favourite player, one certain GOD, was like that. I know a different era but same principle that if he was doing it on the pitch I wouldnt care what he was doing off the pitch as long as it wasnt illegal. Although on the pitch performance is far from just being his fault given our other strikers have struggled due to lack of midfield.
  13. Why do you think Amavi will leave? Surely with interest from China and Liverpool if he wanted to leave he would do now. The longer he stops in the Championship the lower his worth will be.
  14. He gets one chance all game. We arent talking about one of the best strikers in the world we are talking about one of the best strikers in the championship recently, the poor guy has had no service. If he had been given say 3 chances and missed them then fair to have a go at him but he got one......looked like he should've scored but he didn't, I'm not going to have a go at him for that as you arent going to score with every chance you get, not even the best players in the world do that.
  15. Wouldn't mind a panic buy of the experienced talented player whose only dropping down a league because we are paying him stupid money and is too good for this league. Maybe Barry is the closet to this
  16. Completely agree Our strikers are not the problem, our supply is. Then once in a blue moon our strikers do get a chance the pressure is on to score. To some level I understand that they should be up to that pressure as that is what they are paid for but the supply at Villa is so bad that it must affect players as they know if they dont deliver we write them off. We have McC, Kodjia and Gestede who were all prolific in this division previously and given we are one of the biggest teams in the division, the amount of money we have spent, none of them have really been prolific. Kodjia being the closet to that at with 9 goals. 6 players in the division have scored more goals than him. This points directly at the supply not being there, not strikers that havent fit into the system.
  17. Played good, didn't score as usual.
  18. Not bad considering where we were. Remember those teams were playing well and we weren't. Now we are getting on a roll that gap could easily disappear especially if we can sort our away form out. Five wins on the bounce at home. So when Bruce took over we were 8 points behind and now 4 after 12 games, therefore with 23 games left we will gain another 8 points, therefore we will be n the playoffs
  19. Poor decision giving him this contract, given his contribution to the weakness of our midfield I thought he'd move on eventually. Strange decision given our supposed future ambitions.
  20. With the strikers we have available and despite some of the form they are in, it should still mean that Gabby is nowhere near the team. I just don't see what he's offering to warrant some game time.
  21. 1. Born in Castle Brom, grew up in Erdington but have lived in Sydney for the last 12 years 2. Desperately tried to support football in Sydney but I find the quality poor and frustrating, and when you don't have the connection like we do with the Villa from birth you have a choice of watching or not, thus I don't. It proved to me watching local football that if Villa wasn't part of who I am then I would've left Villa a few seasons ago because quality has been poor for so long. As a Villa fan though that will never happen and I keep coming back every week..... 3. Grandfather was a Villa fan. I followed Villa home and away from my teenage years up until the age of 27 when i moved to Sydney for a job opportunity. Due to my current global role I get to come back to the UK a couple of times a year at least and recently went to the Newcastle game. Back in Sydney for the last few years we get to see most Villa games in the PL live on TV so I have got up at silly times on a Sunday morning to watch. This season is a little harder after being relegated as we aren't on TV very much apart from highlights.
  22. If Bruce wants him then I'm fine with it. Our CM needs more and we dont have options until January at the earliest
  23. Agree with all, Bruce has his work cut out. Wolves were all over us second half. as a side question I used to remember new managers winning their first game, it was almost a given but my memory must be shot but the amount managers we've had recently I can't remember that happening last. Anybody know?
  24. To be fair to you we haven't many other options until January. If nothing changes by February then we'll both be in the same bucket.
  25. Cant make up my mind about appointing him. People say this is going to split the fan base, I think for some like me it splits how we feel. I hate to say this of myself and it's not my normal self but what Villa and football does to us. If he struggles early on i'll probably be on his back and the opposite if he's successful. This appointment is going bring out those extremes. Risky move by the club but as they aren't as close as us and given the other candidates is a logical choice.
