  1. yep not impressed with him at all, cant even figure what or where he should play on the pitch, he hasnt thrived in any position. Need to give other a chance rather than him now especially as he isnt ours.
  2. I agree with your points. We also have to remember that while Fulham were the better team over the 90 minutes we did have chances to score before they scored and if had taken a chance it may have been different. Additionally we had lost two players and made some me stupid mistakes like Johnstones kick for the second goal which he never makes. losing Jack and Albert is a big blow we still have creative talent in Snoddy and we have to remember that on paper our team is still far better than most. For me we just had a bad day at the office. If we go on a run like this then I will be concerned but one game i’ll put down to a blip.
  3. We were bound to slip up at some point, winning runs always to come an end. It’s now how we react to it. Time to go on a new winning run against Preston.
  4. There are also easier games to bring him and also to get match fit. It's going to be a tough game, we dont want to be carrying passengers (again not ability but match fitness). Super sub seems more reasonable to me, the opposition will be worn down, gives him a chance to get match confidence and his ability then can help us.
  5. I think the best Green could do is bench this weekend despite Albert's injury, I think we'll see either Whelan or Bjarnason brought in and Jack moved out wide. Giving more solidity in the middle away from home forced on by Albert's injury but might make some sense. Depending on how the game is going then throwing on Onamah, Green or Grabban. Fulham are a really good team but we are better. Sometimes good to be a bit more solid away from home and then throw on additional guns later in the game. Not sure throwing Green in now into this game from the start would be a wise move. Given my history though he'll probably start, score a brace and be man of the match.
  6. I must have missed that she's terrible, I think she's a fine actress........not of the truly elite i grant you but more than good enough for the parts she has played in the past
  7. I know we are still third but I really think now 2nd place at the end of the season is ours to lose. We have the players and the momentum, I don't care about individual games just the end of season result now, please don't screw it up Villa!
  8. I love this signing, not because I know much about this guy but hopefully it has a couple of effects on the team 1) We all knew we needed another striker and so did our rivals, we are on a roll now in the league and now having that extra striker confidence should be higher 2) If he actually comes in and fits in and scores goals that should be enough to get us 2nd spot because our defence is solid, our midfield while not perfect looks good enough for what we need and now we have more goals 3) Other teams around us might be slightly deflated because they knew how strong we were, we are on a roll and now we've added the one thing we needed.....a goal scoring striker. Sometimes seeing your opposition get stronger weakens yourself
  9. I'm still keeping calm, we've seen highs before and knowing the Villa we are just as likely to lose to Burton and then beat Wolves. We are one of the favorites now for second place surely and we have momentum and quality but I more than sure we'll have some major slips and some major highs before the end of the season. I just hope the total conclusion is that we are second in the league at the end.
  10. We also have to assume that if Bruce gets us second then it's going to be difficult to sack a manager that has just got you automatically promoted. I'd be surprised if they let him go after that, they'd at least give him a chance in the PL. I'd also be hard pressed to push for a change in manager when he has been successful.

Not really bothered either way but I would edge towards selling if the right replacement was already found. If he stays he's a good kid that can hold up the ball but looks not to have a goal scoring instinct based on what I have seen of his positional play. That could be because he isnt a goal getter or because we arent a team that create the right kind of chances for him or the fact that his only 19 and only played a small part of a season. If he goes and we get the right type of striker that can scores goals in this team in the way we play, like kodjia did last season then I'm ok to let him go. For me, all I care about, is promotion this season and I if I have to forfeit some future capital then I am happy to do that. I hate the modern day attitude of everything needs to happen now and I can see in parts of myself as time goes by which I hate because you get used to it with technology and everything. This is not about that, this is about promotion this year being huge for us in terms of the future of this club and another year in the championship could impact us more than we think aside from the money tap dry up from the premier league relegation. Therefore selling potential (and that's all it is at the moment) with something that could benefit us now I'm all for.
  12. I'm still waiting for the bubble, maybe we have missed this cycle and wont have one for another month or so. Really thought the 10k was going to be it, that it would correct to 5-6k and then we go again but the publicity recently about Bitcoin, the 10k bubble target, and the futures, it just seems as it was about to correct we got a high influx on new money that offset the bubble and turned into a new wave increasing to the next bubble. I was saying to a friend today that the last 4 or 5 days it feels like Bitcoin has slowed up a bit compared to the last few months but looking at the chart what that means is hit a bit of resistance at 18k and has fluctuated between that and 14k, which in the real world is bonkers yet in my mind before analysing i thought it had just leveled a bit hahaha. Anyway seems the last few days my alt coins have felt the love, which is pleasing. Hopefully more newbie investors come into the market for xmas and continue sending my numbers higher
  13. Apologies, just seen this. Yes I completely agree they are different things and never meant to indicate they were but re-reading my wording could suggest so sorry about that. As a very happy boy today having ripple in my portfolio my point was the tech that they are building will be used by banks not the coin.
  14. I think some version of a coin will turn into a currency from this. Obviously 95% of these coins will vanish but there are some real world solutions within some of these coins and slowly being adopted like the partnership between American Express and Ripple https://www.reuters.com/article/us-blockchain-amex-ripple/amex-launches-blockchain-based-business-payments-using-ripple-idUSKBN1DG1SX I think why it has a chance to turn into cash is that society is pushing back on so many things, the likes of you and I are sick of the banks, perceived corruption, too much control by the establishment, big fees, currency conversion etc etc and crypto although in it's novice form starts to solve some of those problems. So it's an evolution of the current way and why it might not get adopted is the infrastructure that will need to be developed but I'm convinced that big companies would invest that because it will benefit them. Therefore for me it will be the establishment that will stop it as governments and banks will have less or very little control over it and obviously they are not going to take it lying down. Who knows! This crypto ride has been exciting and if it's a bubble then it's been fun but I still think some of of the solutions will be adopted at the very least.
  15. We should be not scared of anybody in this division, just respectful. We have the most expensive and best squad on paper. We have won four on the trot and only just starting to get some confidence after years of problems. We will only fail because of ourselves as on paper we are better than the rest. Wolves are a good team, as are Cardiff and Leeds and we should not fear them. We should respect them but we should take the game to them.
  16. Happy with today, we played poorly but still dug out a win and that's sign of progression that we can still manage to win when we played poorly.
  17. As I mentioned on here a couple of times, I'm in the 'Bruce In' and obviously some small justification I'm feeling at the moment but I know it can turn in one game, so I still believe he is the right man but just as I didnt get carried away when things were going wrong I'm not going to get carried away when things are going right. I'm just going to enjoy each game as much as I can but I'm going to be nervous all season outside of game days. I've never felt like this, all this season matters is getting promoted so I'll enjoy the games but I dont think I'll be enjoying the season. Keep it up Bruce
  18. Well I loved the Force Awakens, cant tell you how many times I have watched it. Fully understand the jibe you have given it but I didnt care and being a big nerd on Stars Wars that I am from the films and having read most of the books now, I loved it. So bring on JJ.......
  19. Bruce is going nowhere in the near future in my opinion and I'm not convinced it is right either for him to go, still think he should have a bit more time. I go against most on here but that's the way I feel.
  20. Never understand why people need to be judged after the event. I judge him by what he's done today and so far I'm very happy with him. To be fair management appointment success is almost luck of the draw below the big teams. He tried with RDM and rectified as soon as it wasnt working, just like I feel sticking with Bruce at the moment is the right choice. His tweets I dont see as unprofessional at all, it's the modern age where consumers, especially the younger generation communicate via these mediums and in real time. The fact his makes it slightly playful with emojis shows that he has a fun side.
  21. maybe I'm pessimistic or you're naive but to me if the kids come in and even if they gave it a go, if our win ratio is like now our fans would be on their back. The theory and dream would be a lot more local young talent in the team but we'd soon get fed up if the results weren't following and given this day and age of everything needs to happen now, these youngsters wouldn't get much time. You're also assuming our kids are any good. How many of our academy in the last 10 years play at our level or above compared to how many we have hoped or believed had talent. fair enough, I don't agree with everything you have said about Bruce and my two game comment was too narrow. In my head though I can't see a better alternative, all the names to replace him don't inspire me at all, do they you? So I fall back to what's on paper and he has a history of promotion so he knows what is needed. Cardiff was so bad I know! I'm just not convinced him going now is right! I want to see how the team reacts in the next couple of games
  22. "Would we have been worse off yesterday if O'Hare/Green/Bree had started against Cardiff?" who knows but if it had been about the same then Villa fans would be on their back and that's no good for their development, you want to bring through young players in better situations rather expecting them to get us out of this mess "It will also be important to develop our own players given the ludicrous transfer market and FFP." only if they are good enough, so few of Villa academy have ever been good enough for first team football "look at Burnley/Huddersfield. Both clubs have embraced a modern ethos and followed it through with great success" but Villa fans wont wait, we still live off a big history (although a very long time ago) and expect to be up there and fighting for whatever we are focusing on at that time. The clubs you mention dont and fans are more willing to be patience, whereas of who we are we, as Villa fans on the whole, sadly wouldnt allow that much time. Look at the fact we didnt get up last season, look at this season after 2 games we are calling for heads, we are not a fan base that waits and would wait for kids to develop over a number of seasons. If said to villa fans that we are going to build with kids, maybe 4-5, in the first team and probably wont go up in the next few seasons there would be uproar wouldnt there.
  23. I think it's a big job still that people want. I also think a large portion would see it as a poisoned chalice and it's a no win situation because it's promotion or failure and if you are promoted it was expected anyway. i think this myth that fans will give youth time is nonsense, if results stayed the same fans would be on players backs just like now. Fans would criticise the board for not spending money and kids would be disheartened more so than established players. Younger fans want to see clubs spending, want to see named players come to their club.
  24. Ok taking only part of my words! Ok let me put it this way, aside from the money clubs, clubs that are successful are not clubs that change managers and have upheaval every year. You also can't say that Bruce is a bad manager, he has a resume that proves that he's consistently a good manager. He's having a bad time at Villa on and off but to be fair when was the last time we had a good manager. So if he's not a bad manager but having a bad time then unless the alternative is better, which the alternative options don't look great, then maybe give him a bit more time because he has proven consistently in the past he knows how to get teams promoted. Let's see what he does over the next few games and how the team reacts
  25. Problem is that when you read the alternatives on the other thread, how many of them would you said are right on paper. Reading them again I would say none hence why I'm sticking with Bruce. If there was a standout candidate then yes but there doesn't seem to be. Bruce was right a year ago on paper despite my misgivings, it's hasn't been great I admit and the Cardiff game was embarrassing but starting again with any on that list just looks crazy. Bruce has been promoted many times, he's an experienced manager and without a decent alternative I'd prefer to give it a little longer. I know I'm different in opinion to most but I'm sick of upheaval and constant change and seeing no difference. Clubs that are successful, outside the money clubs, are clubs that are settled. Not a reason on its own to keep Bruce, but the alternatives to him don't inspire me.
