Witton Lane should be renamed. I have no dislike for Doug but didn’t think at the time he should have it and still don’t now. I know it won’t happen though.

Mess? we need another striker yes but our aim this season was to avoid relegation. We are outside the bottom three now, have had a tough run of games against the best in the league and are playing woeful yet we are not in the bottom three. We are playing the bottom 3 coming up, 2 at home which is where we are gathering points so far this season. Not having another striker is hurting us but saying this is a mess is an exaggeration. We need a couple of wins for sure and if we lose the next three games or close to that we are in trouble. Maupay being too expensive I thought he meant he wasn’t worth that amount of money not that we couldn’t afford it. I also think they expected more from Davis which I thought was expecting too much and injury finished that off.

Konsa is young and apart from last game looked good, Hause was ok. Nakamba has looked great in parts (lost other times). Engels was great as a partnership with Ming’s. Trez has been good.

The thing I’m worried about is when McGinn has a bad game our midfield is non-existent (I’m assuming Jack is upfront) whatever combination we have. We know our problems upfront but I’m now starting to worry about our midfield.

That was awful. Third game I’ve chosen Heaton as MoM which says it all. Our defence was ok to start off with but after our non-existent midfield and attack failed even the defence fell foul. Just awful. Same players will be targeted as usual but this again was a awful team performance. We had nothing!

4 goals before playing champions of Europe, champions of the PL, former best team in the PL, recent PL champions....all teams we have played in the last run of games. Now we go against lesser teams, let’s see how he does against them. He had scored 4 goals before that run and let’s see if he can pick up 2 or 3 goals in the next 6 games

I agree re people in K5 having similar reaction but there have been some poor performances from other players that has had the same derision. I agree re Trez and said fair enough re that as an option I would like to see how Wes does against lesser option which we have in the next 6 games.

Obviously not the same one as you! I’ve not heard any fan I’ve spoken to at the games say this....I’ve heard disappointment, I’ve heard he’s bust a gut and run out of steam after 60 mins, 70 mins, 80 mins as games have gone on. I’ve heard he’s never a regularly goal scorer and I’ve heard he needs to be more physical sometimes with the opposition. Those are the negatives but I’ve heard good things as well. yes he hasn’t blown everybody away and we should’ve had another striker brought as well but sulking and pretending I’ve never heard of, ive never of wanting him injured and I can’t see any of them.

Fair enough, a sensible answer. I think the tone generally on this forum and others are over the top at the moment about Wes when there are little alternatives at the moment. Trying Trez maybe an option but seems like sticking a square peg in a round hole but it worked spectacularly for Thierry Henry. I do feel it’s unfair Wes is being judged, being a new young player, after the hard run of games we just had. I would like to see how he does after the next six easier games against lesser opposition where he’ll have more chances and easier defences.

All of it. Yes it’s not working for him at the moment but he’s not pretending anything, he’s not sulking and people in the ground, on the whole, don’t want him injured. You can argue we can try Trez instead and give Wes a breather or play two upfront so Wes has somebody to fed off, that’s sensible to talk about but your comments were just over the top or trolling.

I would be very surprised, yes he’s not where we want him at the moment and yes we aren’t seeing improvement but what you’ve said above is nonsense.
