Put a bit of context who we were playing for most of them....Liverpool, Leicester, Man City blah blah blah.....It’s against the teams outside the big six that we should judge whether we are struggling. The last three games shows we are and were lucky to pick up 3 points.

With who then? Unless it was somebody class like Poch then I’m sticking with Smith....no thanks to journey managers.

Just because we were the third best team to be promoted, lost most of our best players and had to spend a fortune to fill the squad and try and get them to click and before Southampton game we were out of the bottom three. We are struggling now but you don’t cut loose your manage at the first time of struggling. I’m as angry as you you tonight but cutting Smith now is silly in my opinion.

You certainly aren’t. A second half of the season with 18 points, the same as the first half plus one more win in there somewhere which gets us to 39 points and we’ll probably be safe.

That’s all I’ve wanted. As the third best team coming up that’s a massive achievement. People argue the money we’ve spent but we had to replace many and we needed new players to settle and click together quickly. I knew it would be incredibly hard season but the last 3 games have shocked me how bad we are but we still keep going and aim for 17th.

Disagree, we’ve been awful but we are in touching distance of safety. A strong midfielder, a winger and striker and we are back at the races. We just have to survive this season.

Don’t believe anything reporters say, they’d be foolish to risk relegation. Not saying we’ll go and spend loads but if the right players come along I’m sure they’ll spend the money

Great post! I wrote my post before reading others but I’m surprised how many want Smith out. They will always be a few but jeez how people over react. We are playing badly but for me, as I’ve said, the board and management have to solve this problem....in no way should Smith go.

Incredibly awful Started with a poor starting XI Couldnt pick a MOTM so just plumped for Heaton Back four were sloppy, thought they had all the time in the world and hoofed the ball constantly Midfield - Conor proves again why he’s better coming on as a sub, Lansbury just can’t cut it at this level and Luis has talent but again left it in the dressing room. Attack - Jota should never have started, poor Jack is too weighed down carrying this team and Wes had another anonymous game. El Ghazi and Kodjia made no difference whatsoever we can blame a few things not going our way but we had almost 40 mins against 10 men, a team that were 2nd from the bottom and they were far and away the better team. We have forgotten how to attack, how to defend, how to pass a ball. we have looked the second best team in each game against Southampton, Norwich and Watford who, as the three worst teams (not including us), is scary! And says how bad we are! The board and management have some serious thinking to do now how to resolve this.

For me, I’d take off Lansbury and Jota, bring on Kodjia and Trez....drop Grealish back into midfield

This is awful. I was disappointed with the starting XI as there was no pace at all in midfielder or attack but I thought well maybe Smith wants more possession but there was none of that, still hoofing the ball from the back and they’ve had 11 chances already. I can’t believe how bad we are.....

I agree, we have players just coming to this club, from foreign leagues, young, probably can’t speak the language and a big step up and if they aren’t delivering early into their time here we are told to write them off and sell them as soon as possible. i don’t understand why a player can be developing fine but not exactly what we need now. Seems that on this site and modern social media that it has to be black or white. I watched a bit how Salah and De Bruyne were let go by Chelsea but now are now two of the best players in the league. I’m not saying that’s going to happen to any of our players being world class eventually but writing off players so quickly just is plain silly.

I was thinking the same thing. Really could do with somebody like him....our midfield is so weak.

I agree with the principle but we need somebody with pace.....I really feel this team can only work with a pacey striker the way we play and one of the reasons Wes is struggling.

But we all saw the game and we barely attacked Norwich. Our attacking play from back to front didn’t exist today....no wonder most of those stats are that for Wes. Yes he should do better but the team also must do better giving him something.
