  1. I think a communal use of the ignore function should be considered. For Clark's reputation's sake if nothing else.
  2. I didn't see much of the game but the bit I saw Malmo were retreating deep into their own half and looking to counter. I don't know if that's how they play but I got the impression they turned up for damage limitation. I didn't recognise any of their players from their national side either. On Shelvey, he showed he can utilise space if it's given to him, which is a lot more than we've seen from him since he left Charlton imo. Hopefully he gets a long spell in the team in the PL so we can see how good he is or isn't.
  3. Drogba sh*ts things for breakfast?
  4. What did we do wrong in the Benteke transfer? How much did you pay Genk for Benteke? Did they want to sell him? Did he make a transfer request and go on strike to get his move? How much did Chelsea pay SL to transfer a young striker out of the same league? I didn't mean to imply you did anything "wrong" regarding Benteke (I won't refer to it as a transfer because that's exactly what it isn't). Pathetic lowballing was more a commentary on how I perceive the first 80% of most of the actual transfers Spurs do make.
  5. I hope that's not true. £105m plus Coentrao is ridiculous, even for Bale. On the off chance it is true, I'm glad they've already signed Soldado. With that kind of money they wouldn't need to try their pathetic lowballing for Benteke.
  6. This is ridiculous. If you honestly happily drink and drive, as you seem to have implied, I hope you get caught (and hopefully go to prison) before you hurt someone less selfish than yourself.
  7. Being good at your sport gets you pretty much a free ride with most of your fans though doesn't it.
  8. Ha, you have a point to an extent but I think the fact that Bent saved us from relegation, performs his (limited) role well when picked and he didn't publicly sulk after our most important win last season has something to do with it. For the record, neither go with my blessing but I certainly don't wish them any misfortune when they do go.
  9. This is just nonsense. You think everyone here wouldn't be delighted if the Scottish version Iniesta with the best crossing in the league came through our ranks? Any perceived celebration is over the fact that an arguably overpaid footballer with what would seem to be a bad attitude who has proven to be very inefficient at fulfilling his role of creating and scoring goals whilst on the pitch might be leaving which would free up space on the wage bill for one of PL's new signings By that I mean a player on reasonable wages who is interested in the success of the team and can actually perform well in games.
  10. Making him captain was treating him like crap? Obviously something happened between Lambert giving him the armband and Bent being sidelined. The theory about Bent's refusal to play any position other than central striker is the most likely in my mind but it's up for debate.
  11. My 1rm PR is 155kg. >tfw not as strong as wolverine.
  12. Iirc Murican colour coding was 45lb for red, 35lb for blue, and I'd guess 20lb for the black one. I agree there also looks like there's a little 10lb plate on there and their bars tend to be 45lb which puts the total at 355lb (161kg) by my calculations.
  13. BT hold all the cards on this one as far as my subscription is concerned. I'm with Virgin Media and if they don't sort a **** deal out I'm leaving them. I was actually reasonably happy with the set up before this. **** BT **** robbing UFC coverage the **** words removed.
  14. I dislike him because he's neither footed and acts disgracefully with a reasonable regularity. He's the archetypal rocket polisher English footballer.
  15. what is top 6 these days? Liverpool or Everton excluded as both have defenders better than Shawcross Personally, I think Jagielka, Williams, Hangeland and Collocini are much better but this is the transfer thread and we won't be making signings like that.
  16. I don't know if I'm in the minority but I disagree strongly. Is this including Agger or are Liverpool part of the top 6 now Moyes has moved on? Exactly the type of wooden footed clogger I'm happy to see play elsewhere, in spite of his few decent attributes.
  17. I think that was more down to Defoe, Lennon, Modric, King and Bale but I see your point. They were part of that squad and that is concerning enough. Darn you.
  18. Back on topic, ask him to sign a goddamn new contract.
  19. I agree that luck is necessary. It's a high risk strategy, but its most definitely distinct from what the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool are currently doing.
  20. It's because Zat isn't eligible to play for the Netherlands of course. If Zat Knight was Dutch, he'd have captained them to World and European glory.
  21. Unless I'm mistaken, nobody thinks there's a secret formula. It's just one of many philosophies that a club can choose to follow. It's a difficult method as it requires excellent scouting, but it's the one that I'm happiest with.
  22. Eh? Dortmund have moved on. They're one of the big boys now, that's the point. They knocked out Real and reached the CL final with a team bought for little (except Reus) despite repeatedly having their best player stolen.
  23. That is exactly my point. Everyone is trying to do it. It's not like we have stumbled on to a secret formula for success known only by ourselves and Dortmund. Everyone is trying to buy talented players and mould them into a team, the magical Dortmund model was to do this with unheralded players on low wages for small sums. Liverpool and Chelsea are paying through the arse for highly rated players. That is a different method IMO.
