  1. We signed some players, gave others new contracts and didn't shift enough of the high earning deadwood. The wages of the match day squad has almost certainly come down though.
  2. No more Man City cast offs thank you very much.
  3. possession football is only ever one pass away from being branded perfect football Unless it's that crappy pass it along the back four (and keeper) possession football, in which case its only a bit of pressure on the ball and a panic away from being hoofball.
  4. Yep, it's just so cringeworthy and annoying. Enzo Calzaghe shadow mincing, pulling stupid faces and telling you to "stick one on it" is annoying? Next you'll be saying you don't like the "anything for yow cupcake" guy.
  5. Do you think it's more than he realises or more than he says? Is he being devious and only referring to transfer fees rather than all costs of player acquisitions?
  6. Yep, that's exactly it. You've nailed it in one there. Our results have been consistently rubbish enough to get any other Premiership (sic) manager in history sacked.
  7. Last season we had Ireland, Dunne, Warnock, Fonz, Bannan and Darren Bent suckling wages from our teat.
  8. What is included in player acquisitions? Agents fees, transfer fees, signing on fees? Is there a breakdown or just a single figure?
  9. Limpid is right. The typeface is ugly, bold italics are ugly, kerning is erratic, hair thin tiny fitness letters are impractical for use and there isn't any element linking to what you do. I'd also advise against messing different with colours before you've got a final design. My advice would be to design in black on a white background, keep it as clean & simple as possible (no outlines, italics, fades) and look for (and... borrow) appealing design elements from logos in the same sector.
  10. Don't you mean if we decide to sell him we'll be doing him a favour? Given that he's got a legal obligation to work for the club for the next 3 years? Contracts are worthless in this game. That's a shame. I thought we could have received a fee for him. At least this means we don't have to pay any wages.
  11. Kevin Mitchell got KTFO by Katsidis at Upton Park a few years ago but they had a little canopy over the ring. Edit - I think Haye Chisora was at Upton Park as well.
  12. Hopefully they put some adverts on for it. RE Hendo: It's not unthinkable that this could be his last fight but I doubt it. He's recently signed a 6 fight deal and being TRTless didn't seem to affect his performance against Evans too badly (or at all, really). That reminds me that he stopped his TRT six weeks out for that fight when he didn't get a TUE and passed all tests without a problem. Considering UFC 173 is months away that should make it pretty clear that Vitor isn't just pulling out because his TRT would cause a failed test or because its not enough time adjust to being TRTless.
  13. Would he accept being on the bench behind Lukaku?
  14. You know that bit in the Matrix when Agent Smith is talking to Morpheus about how he can taste the stink of humans and every time he does he fears he's been infected by it? That is similar to my feelings towards blues. No six points is worth being infected by their stink.
  15. Nobody here knows Alan Pardew personally, so can we please stop talking about him. No ifs and buts.
  16. He was on his way out when he nearly subbed Jon Jones? Right after his domination of AJ (who had a 12lb advantage)? Hardly. Before TRT he went 5-2, with 5 impressive stoppage wins against quality opposition and two losses to Anderson Silva and Jon Jones. When he moved up to fight 'quality opposition' he lost twice in a row. This includes a one armed Jones, as you mentioned. Moved up to fight quality opposition? So only top 10 p4p fighters who've dominated their divisions for years are quality? That is nonsense. He didn't fight a one armed Jones either. He fought a two armed Jones and **** one of his arms up. Massive difference.
  17. My favourite bit is that the appeals will almost certainly take years.
  18. Lukaku would be great playing just ahead of Draxler for Players We Won't Sign FC.
  19. I entirely agree. Outrageous overeating seems to gain fans but as far as performance and career longevity are concerned it is unadulterated fuckwittery. The weight cutting I was referring to was water weight and GI tract weight that can be regained post weigh in without damaging a fighter's performance. I've seen people wear sweat suits for days before a fight, heavily sodium load and even try to give themselves diarrhoea to cut weight and claim they just can't do it. Again I agree but if a comfortable weight advantage was possible then it would surely be an advantage worth having. The amount of money involved compared with the seeming lack of physiological understanding is astounding in some camps. I don't have a clue about what Lomachenko did or didn't do but bad weight management is a trend seen throughout combat sports.
  20. He has always been on drugs throughout his entire career and will continue to be, the only difference TRT made was that he could just taper down usage rather than having to cycle off. Until NSAC decide to use CIR testing rather than easily passable TE piss tests he can pretty much juice to his heart's content.
  21. Everyone can cut a significant amount of weight IMO. Obviously there's some variation but the main factor is cutting weight properly. Some of the nonsensical 'tricks' that get used end up making fighters dehydrated badly for days before their fight.
  22. Hathaway got KTFO by Kim yesterday which puts him on a two fight KO streak. Never thought that would be the case after his last 10 fights before these two.
  23. On mobile but either Dave Tate or Mark Rippetoe are good for that stuff, Tate's explanations are more advanced but MR is funnier.
  24. I don't know why it would be without Silva seeing as he's talking about fighting again this year, but assuming it is; Belfort pre TRT was a wrecking machine, only stopped by a prime AS and Machida won (and defended... technically) a title in a higher weight class and has gone undefeated and looks in the best physical shape of his career since dropping down. Looking at the rankings, top 15 p4p IMO: LHW has 1, HW has 1, FW has 3 or 4, WW has 1 or 2, BW has 2, LW has 3. Obviously subjective. Weidman, Silva and Belfort are solid top 10 p4p IMO. RE TRT: The other commissions will follow suit regarding not grant TUEs but the testing will still be sparse and inadequate. They're still using piss tests AFAIK. Also the effects of PEDs aren't just acute, they're cumulative. He's had several years of impossibly (naturally) intense camps to improve his skills.
