Are we not similar to that now? Vlaar and delph will be leaving for free next year, we have limited funds available again and I think we're in for a battle to survive again. I think the argument is that while we're currently ****, we were equally as **** when Lerner bought us and he did briefly revive us, whereas Doug bought the reigning European Champions and left us ****.

He was just back into training and had decided himself that he was fit enough to play. If the evidence of him being injured for another month the next time he played is anything to go by, then he was wrong. The first line, as has already been pointed out, is drivel.

When Bent was injured? No when Bent was sat in the stands at Villa Park in a suit. In my very limited understanding of the mechanical workings of suits I always thought you could wear one of them even when you were injured. IIRC there was a hoohaa because he came back from one of his many injuries, declared himself "fit", and didn't walk straight back into the squad. As soon as he did get back in the team a few weeks later he got reinjured straight away.

3 at the back requires 3 CBs who are comfortable on the ball and a combative defensive mid in front of them IMO. Last season we had one comfortable CB and no real DM. Maybe this season will be different but I won't hold my breath. -

Its almost like Lambert had a wage budget to meet... We still payed his wages while he sat in the stands. At Fulham? My impression was that they paid the majority if not all of his wages. Plus a loan fee. No in 2012-13. He played in 12-13 (see video above for reference), he was just 2nd choice to Benteke and injured quite a bit.

You are talking about a club who binned Robben to accommodate Kaka. Madrid do this kind of stuff all the time. I thought they binned Robben to accommodate Ronaldo. IIRC they binned Sneijder to accommodate Kaka. Edit - Either way they're not scarred in the slightest of moving on world class players.
