  1. I am scared shitless. What underlines how far we have fallen is I found myself thinking "well a draw against Fulham would be alright, after all they are a far better team." We are not better than any team in the league, at best we are bottom 5 scrappers. As someone said, Bent gone in January (dont blame him), relegation scrap till the end of the season, roll the dice whether we stay up or not. Line up the drinks, I am going to be propping up ther bar for a while.
  2. Same shit, different season. Dammit.
  3. I like Fulham and their fans, but we really need a win. Hope we crush em. How long has it been since we really smacked a team in the league? Too long.
  4. I reckon he will be on the bench for Saturday just because he has played so many games the past week. Will come on as a sub. To start I reckon Gabby & Weimann. Two fast paced hustlers to get Fulhams back 4 wheezing. Cant beat em in the air so pacey through balls maybe our best bet, particularly if ireland & Bannan are playing to provide them.
  5. Sadly you are right, maybe this weekend is when our luck turns!
  6. Agreed. I like Lamberts signings I think each of them has been a step up over what we had last season. Not yet back up to the level of quality we had three seasons ago but we are on the right trajectory.
  7. For good or ill I think Lambert will continue to make constant rotation changes to the team and change tactics every match or two. Its the way he was at Norwich and I assume the club before. Its just who he is. I like it, but blimey its a rollercoaster.
  8. McLeish undeniably had the better start and made more proven signings. For me the difference is last year I saw a team that was average and unlikely to get much better. This season I see a team that is very raw and below average but that I think can get much, much better. Oh also last season I was genuinely embarrassed to watch us play, even when we won it was poor. This season I love watching us play. That matters.
  9. Feeling pretty pessimistic right now to tell the truth. It is very easy to imagine us getting just a point from our next 7 games (A pumped up Norwich draws against us and straight losses to the rest). On the plus side I do know we will go full out to win every game and we have a squad with a lot of young players who will put in a hell of a shift, so that lifts me. Anyway, yeah feeling a bit down after the WBA result. We have not started the season well results wise.
  10. Bent has said it was a blow but he and the team are fully behind the manager. Good for him. I want to see Weimann get a start next game. Although I agree it probably time for older heads. We should be damn grateful to Bent, he has taken a lot of stick in his time from fans but he keeps putting in goals and so far under lambert is getting involved with more and more of the game as well.
  11. I would pay good money to watch that side! I still like the idea of Gabby & Weimann starting up front. Just scare the living shit out of the baggies with pace, energy & power.
  12. Its funny, even after Everton & Southampton I didnt see fans turning on Lambert. I guess we are not feeling fickle this season
  13. I think the good news is bent has been performing. Its good we have options. I think our frontline will be rotated a lot over the next few weeks. Nothing wrong with that, doesnt mean Bent is bad or Wemann is bad, just means we will be rotating. I am delighted.
  14. Like I said, a walkover for city, oh well onward....wait what???? When was the last time we scored 4 goals? Bloody hell.
  15. Because we are football fans? Besides, last week was great. We were going to win the league! This week we are getting relegated which is unfortunate.
  16. It shows, it really shows. Honestly we look like the hardest working team in the Premier League. That goes a long long way for me as a fan and in terms of the team getting the ball back.
  17. Lamberts scouting network is superb, the way he finds these hidden gems.
  18. What I love is reading other teams fans after our games. They cannot believe how hard working our side is. Our players are truly busting a gut to play. Thats all down to Lambert.
  19. Nope it was real. I think at the end of it he was like "wait, wft, I actually pulled that off? What now? Backheel, backheel." A bit like Vlaar after the end of his run 8)
  20. Just rewatched the game. Although he had some poor passes he also had some good ones. It stood out he made easily villas best pass off the game (spilt the Swansea defence to pick out Bent) also he had a great run where he took on and beat a few defenders to break into the box. He deservedly got the standing ovation imho.
  21. Nice to see how a victory can unite us as fans .......
  22. ronaldo is a great player, messi is a great player, iniesta is a great player. brett holman is not a **** great player Fair enough but they are world class players hey he was a great player for us today, how bout that?
