  1. This is the correct answer. There is zero upside. We would lose our best players (only the crap ones would stay), we would see attendances fall, revenues would plummet and it could be years until we came back up again, oh and when we did because of the new TV deal we would be less able to compete with established clubs. Going down would be ALL bad.
  2. Hopefully that game will build up his confidence a bit. He played alright. Good on yer lad. Lets see more.
  3. I am happy to see this. He is angry at our position. I like that. He did well today, set the team out correctly. Some strange subs but I am happy with an away point.
  4. That time was early January I am afraid. Now we are in catch up mode. I have little faith we will do anything but continue our decline.
  5. I dont, but this window has been the time for panic if there ever was one. Instead the club as a whole have seemed perfectly fine with where we are. Happy to let us drift out of the league. At least the likes of West Ham & Newcastle looked like they gave a damn when they went down. Our club feels more like Blackpool's leadership. Fine with going down and just tightening belts for the inevitable.
  6. I genuinely though Lerner would back us to the tune of 20 million this window and Lambert would hit the panic button. I am shocked that he, Lambert & the club seem resigned to just going down. They dont even seem bothered by it.
  7. I had believed we would be spending upto 20 million this window on 3 or so players midfielders mainly. However Tayls comments today in the Daily Fail (if true) have shocked me. He is actually still connected to the club so if he gets the "no money" vibe then I am tempted to believe it. Lets hope his quotes are bollocks made up by the Rag. Very worrying if true.
  8. If we end up turning it around against Bradford hell YES I expect pitch invasions. Bloody hell good times have been few and far between. Unfortunately I dont think we will.
  9. All evidence points that way. Certainly we have learnt the past 17 days that , amazingly, the club didnt think we needed strengthening enough to have any business lined up for the start of the window.
  10. We have to keep Weimann. We have just got round to a cool chant. Still not sure wtf his shooting a rubber band at the crowd celebration is all about but whatever, he can work on that.
  11. I am here for the new signing paarrrty!!!! Oh.
  12. No signings? I would pick us up and go again.
  13. I see 3 wins there on current form. Maybe 2 draws. Form needs to change
  14. Also a big difference from being in the relegation zone and not. We knew this weeks ago but the club has chosen to let us get into it without strengthening. Foolish.
  15. I honestly didnt think it could get any worse from last season. In retrospect that was foolish of me.
  16. Usually its Mayish I think. Probably a modest loss for 11/12 then a big loss for 12/13 given Lerner plowing the full 20M+ back into the club for Lambert. After that assuming we are in the Championship we will have parachute payments for a season, but then unlikely to be able to compete with Premier League teams as the revenues go up so much next year. Pretty much this is the worst year to get relegated given the way the finances are changing.
  17. Me too. He always behaved very respectfully towards us, had the best results of any post MON manager and left with no fuss or complaint when he could have legitimately asked for his position to become permanent. He knows the setup so could hit the ground running. McAllister in! Sorry Paul, we all made a mistake.
  18. Any chance of Gary McAllister coming back? Out of all our recent managers he was the only one with the air of Premier league solidity and a bit of competence. Not a world beater for sure but the man wouldnt have us in this spot.
  19. How many here were consistent doubters of McLeish? I seem to remember a lot. Morpheus is well entitled to support the team but believe we hired the wrong man as manager. Personally still think Lambert will come good with his approach, but he isnt making it easy on me thats for sure
  20. I agree with this. He has been a consistent doubter of PL, so far he is being proven right. I dont believe Lambert is on some strict budget either, in fact he has said as much. Lerner has already given him a massive transfer fund and I believe has backed him again this window. Thing is Lambert is consistent in his philosophy, he wants a young team and he wants willing workers. We can invent conspiracies all we want but I think Lambert means what he says. This is the way he wants to run the team, its how he wants to progress. Like I think he meant what he said about Darren Bent, he didnt think he was better than the other forwards for those games, some other games he might be. Thats who he is. I admit he has balls of steel, I am shitting myself and have been since Wigan, if I was him I would have made some panic buys by now. He hasnt, either he will look like a principled winner or a damn fool by the end of the season. I hope its the former, I am beginning to fear it is the latter. Never dull though is it?
