  1. Surprisingly optimistic.
  2. Villa review podcast were talking about how likeable our team is now. I agree with that. I think Lambert goes out of his way to weed out c*nts. It shows. This is a likeable team who obviously get on. Good to see.
  3. Works for me. He is likely to only get better. The Dunne money alone would be enough to keep hi I reckon.
  4. We should not be selling our best players, we should be building around them. Give him a better contract now. he aint for sale. We should be off shopping ourselves with the wages being freed up this summer.
  5. I think he genuinely dislikes DiCanio and also wanted to do over Sunderland for MON. Perfect storm for him.
  6. I preferred it when it was The Sports Direct Arena.
  7. Nah. We will not lose another game this season. Hows dat for yer numbers abacus head?
  8. I would rather we were safe before the game. After we thrash Sunderland & Norwich we will be fine.
  9. It is Young team - tick Attacking front four/formation - tick I've always thought this and although we are a million miles away from that level (massive understatement) it proves it can be done without cash. Their team cost a lot less than ours to assemble. [edit - 29 million says Stan Collymore - wow) Klopp bought Kagawa for 300k. Just because we are trying to emulate them doesn't mean we will though...Klopp is just a genius. If it happens I will be delighted. It is true we are entertaining and attack minded most of the time. We have not clicked yet though. But be a mini dortmund? Yes please.
  10. Yes. He also had a great pre season with us. Lambert must have shipped him out because of attitude because he was playing just fine. Lambert doesnt mess about. He knew he wanted rid of half the squad and has a zero tolerance for attitude or lack of commitment. I respect that in him. I still think he did too much too quickly though, would it really have hurt to keep some of our experienced players and not piss em off or ship em out? Anyway whats done is done, we just have to hope for the best now. Scary as hell though. Gradual change is all fine and good, I'm just not too sure how well that works when you are talking about a change in culture. Seems to me you kinda have to pull the rug out from under people or the culture doesn't really change. I can respect Lambert for that...... ... though if it comes at the price of leaving the Premiership then it's a very steep price to pay. Yeah. I dunno, I go back and forth between blaming him and being proud at just how insanely attacking he is. I mean he setup with 4 attackers playing ManU away..... nobody can say he never goes for it thats for sure!

  12. We've had this mindset for too long. Old Trafford should be just another ground to these professional players. An awful Blackburn side won there last season. Yes, one team. How many games do Man United lose at home to teams under 15th in the table? Accidents do happen every once in a while, but Blackburn beat them on New Years Eve I think, which is more likely given the program and the resting of certain key players. Alright forget Blackburn, I stand by the rest of my post. Gary Neville said he liked playing us as we usually gave up the three points with minimum fuss. It's a pathetic state of affairs. Its kinda how I see it too. Having seen the Teales, the grays and the lochheads, you kinda get to know when a player does'nt intend to come second best. Yup. We play like losers who expect to lose.
  13. We showed our belly in surrender and they were kind enough to stop at 3. Pathetic. Hate ManU all you want (and I do) but their team never gives up like we did.
  14. Just you, probably. Not me. I guess a relation scrap once every 15 years might be of interest. But this is the 3rd year on the spin now. I absolutely hate it. Pretty much. I kind of enjoyed the thrill the first time. By now I just resent it. Tired of seeing my club descend.
  15. I liked him and Benteke taking the piss at the end. Someone else said it earlier but I really hope this team gets safe soon so they can express themselves better.
  16. All true. I do think its worth noting though that three of those 4 teams are very much terrible teams. Still better beating them than losing I will say one massive plus we have going for us is we always look likely to score, plenty of threat up front. Thats a very very hard thing to do in this league.
  17. To be fair Wigan are huge bottlers as well. I took great heart in their awful performance today.
  18. Gotta say I am very impressed by Villa fans. If anything as things got worse attendances went up. Away tickets consistently sold out and 90 minutes of rock solid support.
  19. Stoke surprised me as well. Just toothless. Also I was gutted when they took shotton off my god he was like us playing with an extra man.
  20. Yeah ,when I saw the line up I was like "wait what? One too may forwards?" I am still not sure what our exact formation was. I will watch the replay and try and figure it out.
  21. Not to depress people too much but its fairly typical for teams that get relegated to have a goalkeeper and striker who grab the attention and look good right? Yakubu & Robson, Fletcher & Hennessey spring to mind.
  22. Meh good point, but he scored 5 goals last season in the prem and 3 before that... as a striker that's not exactly ideal. I keep seeing it pop up gabby this and that now. I really hope he does start kicking in from now till the end of the season. I tell you who we need ... Zoggy ! If we can get N'Zog to play well for the next few games that would be better, he kept wigan up single handedly before he came to us. It would be great. But he has been rarely played 90 minutes since he came, that cant do his confidence any good. In my dream world the "real" Nzogbia starts playing for us and becomes a regular starter. I dont have much to go on beyond hope when it comes to Charles though. Boy it sure would be nice to have him come good now though. God knows we need him.
  23. Based on what? To be honest who else would we get? I genuinely dont know who would come into a Championship Villa side that would be interesting at all. The usual faces scare the crap out of me. Serious question, who would you sooner we got if we got relegated? The only exciting candidate I can think of is Gary McAllister, who was a dour bastard but was a brief but pleasant reign of competency around here.
  24. We are the foxy older lass who has clearly seen better days but deffo up for it.
  25. Oh I agree with that. I wouldnt want Lambert to go now or next season. I like him but I recognise his flaws.
