I think you are in the majority, most of us think he will stay. It is natural for fellow fans to be nervous though particularly given the press are hell bent on pushing the "he is too good for Villa" bollocks line. he is not too good, he is the kind of quality we should have throughout the team. We are Aston Villa ffs not some recently promoted side.
The opening day is always a bit of a lottery so I would prefer to play a big team away for it. Chelsea scares me to death but meh, we have to play them sometime.
I think Lambert will get back to changing formations / line ups every few matches to feel his way through the squad. Wouldnt surprise me at all to see us change formations every two games or so for the first month or two.
I was reading this and was going to bring up Venkys until I realized you said it. Rovers really are the laughingstock of football now, aren't we? (If Villatalk had a crying emoticon I would've used that.
Sorry mate. You will rise again. Good club with top fans. You deserve better
You lot should consider yourselves lucky. If I owned the club I would have used the club itself as collateral to get debt to buy it for me (ie: do a glazers) then be playing entirely youth/free transfer players and pocketing the parachute money to make my massive monies profits. After that I had milked the club dry and we were sitting pretty in league one I would generously offer a transfer budget of a few million quid to get us promoted again and then sell its tired ass to some chump for even more lovely cash.
This attitude is possibly why I do not own a football club..... although Venkys do....
I like watching Villa play and I like the players and the manager. Yeah we are likely going to lose more games than we win next season but thats ok, we are exciting to watch and we keep getting better.
Never had a problem with Bent. I hope he stays and we can work him into the team. Does what he says he will do. Score goals.
But if he moves on I wish him well and thank him for keeping us up.
Dont care. I dont think Lambert does either.
But if we have to have one Vlaar is a good choice. His immediate comforting of Baker after the own goal was very good to see.
